Taken from COYS and source beeing Shaggy1712. McGregor wouldn't be my first choice though; I personally hope the Amelia deal is still on.

My sources up here tell me that we are looking at a couiple more players from Rangers. One I understand is Allan McGregor Rangers outstanding young keeper who has come on in leaps and bounds this season. he was instrumental in Rangers' defeat of Werder Bremen in the Uefa cup and is Alan Hutton's best mate.

The second player I am led to believe is Carlos Cuellar who again has had a great season in the heart of Rangers' defence - being Spanish his aabilities are well known to Juande Ramos.

"Update"

I can advise members that Mcgregor is aware of our interest and "may be tempted"

id take both, depends how much though!

My guess:

McGregor - £6m
Cuellar - £8m

Personally, although I'd have him at WHL, I'd sooner see Kameni at £4m that McGregor for £6m.

Cuellar I'd take for £8m, but any more than that and I think I'd look elsewhere.

Yep, Alfie Conn would solve our AM problem and Richard Gough would be ideal for one of our CD berths, plus the vacant leadership role.

And while we're at it, let's make Hearts an offer they can't refuse for Dave Mackay.

I have a feeling that McKay is carrying an injury....or he got lost on his way to WHL after the 1969 ground 'sweep'). I would expect him back, however, for the beginning of the 2010/11) season, IF everything goes well with the Regeneration project at Portland Downs.....COYS!

ChRiStOpHe - you know your Rangers, but you're 'aving a laff with those valuations, aren't you? Cuellar cost Rangers c£2.2 million from Osasuna at the beginning of the season. I can't believe that playing the likes of Gretna in the SPL plus a few rearguard actions in the CL has quadrupled his value?

£8 million is pretty close to Jarque's buyout clause. What are Cuellar's strengths?

Seeing it's near Easter, wonder whether Johnny White and Bill Brown will come back from their graves. With those 5 Super Scots, we'll do the Grand Slam next season.

We signed Carrick for £2.75m, and sold him 2 years later for £18.6m.

Jean-Alain Boumsong joined Rangers on a Bosman free transfer, and then moved onto Newcastle for £8m a mere 18 games later.

Cuellar was a bargain. He played a big part in the Osasuna team that did really well in the league a few years ago (top 4 I think), and was part of the team that went even further than us in last years UEFA Cup. I have no idea how Rangers managed to get him so cheap, but he's without a doubt too good for the standard of the league in Scotland. He's really calm in doing his defensive duties, and without being too disrespectful, his class stands out like a sore thumb around a lot of not just the opposition, but his own team mates. If there's one thing he lacks, it's pace.

I remember watching his debut in a Champions League qualifier against Zeta, and he was just so good - it was like he barely needed to try. Incidentally, Alan Hutton played like a tosser than game, getting himself sent off for 2 bookings in about 30 seconds

This would be seriously uncool. I can handle Hutton joining spurs but, McGregor as well, nah I think I will pass on that and head straight to Boruc. :)

Thanks for that info, ChRiStOpHe

We signed Carrick for £2.75m, and sold him 2 years later for £18.6m.

Yes, but we bought Carrick at a firesale price because his Spam contract was running out and he'd been plagued by injuries. However as a kid, everyone spoke of him as a future England international. Once he proved he'd got over his injuries, and could be the lynchpin of a Top 5 EPL side, his value was always going to rise dramatically.

With regard to Cuellar, I'm sure Ramos will know him from La Liga. But his lack of pace does worry me a bit: we already have plenty of slow CBs, and our grease lightning CBs - Ledley & Big Tone - are hardly ever fit.

If we really want to play a slow CB, I'd be happy for us to give Huddlestone a run there. He can use his vision & passing skills very effectively from the back, and in the few games he has played there, he's looked comfortable defensively.

With regard to transfers in general, I'm sure we have:
A Short List
A Long List
A Very Long List

I have my hunches about which of those lists McGregor & Cuellar are on...
