My take on the ITK... I usually 'follow' Trix, Herc, H88 et al... and then their posts are on my News Feed... I'll clock in there and see what I've missed most days.

But the ITK forum itself is useful place to have it all, as D1 and VYid posts pop up there too.

Any chance the posting of aggregators without the original source material could be banned?

I am guilty of it in the past as much as others, but it really is a pain when out of context quotes or not full quotes are posted mostly inaccurately by the aggregator. It doesn't seem as bad this summer so far, but 12 months ago it was so hard to follow the news accurately.

It's already part of the rules and very explicit. You shouldn't be posting aggregator accounts.

If we then ban people who keep doing it, we just get a load of PMs whining about the "unfair" bans.

I'd suggest giving people who do it an appropriate rating until they get the message.

No I don’t mean banning people, not at all. I was talking about aggregator accounts everywhere, not just the itk thread where it is working perfectly. Good idea about the rating. ?

@Rob I know @chrissivad has been doing a stellar job with the ticker thread, would it maybe be a good idea that they could just post the relevant info into the read only as well?

I know it doubles up on their workload having to post in both, but I figure that if they are already posting bits in the ticker that it can't be too many more clicks to post it in the RO?

Just an idea, as I tend to read on mobile and have went to put something in the RO years ago and had no idea how to even post in there (I get things have likely changed and I can now see a post thread button)

I'm assuming that anything not considered itk or that's from an itk who doesn't want their info in the RO will be rejected by you and the team and that we don't have to worry about A&C's freshly lubed banstick?

I honestly thought you were pulling it out of the itk thread, that makes a lot of sense though and an agree with you and Rob it shouldn't be just you especially if you're managing to keep us all in the loop through the ticker whilst working.

Rob and A&C get most of the credit for the ITK section but I just wanted to thank you for the superb work you do with the ticker.

I guess you just want the info from our guys who have a blue background in there though? Presumably if they don't have a blue background they either don't want their info highlighted to everyone, or they haven't been verified.

I guess any known ITKs from other websites are fair game for our RO.
