Is Sherwood the worst manager we've had?

Oh I KNOW mate ;). It was 5 points away from 4th, and 8 points from top. Now it's 8 from 4th and 15 from top, yet Finn keeps telling me that Sherwood is doing better & I'm still trying to make sense of it.

Well to me losing 3 points to Top 4 over 16 games is better than losing 5 points to Top 4 over 16 games. But apparently to you latter is better, I'm trying to make sense of that.

I even listed it game for game, with the same opposition

Compared to last season (which have fuck all bearance to how AVB did this season) and without taking account promoted/relegated sides.

22 games by the end of the season. It has relevance as it shows the standard of PL of this season and last season. Even a shitty side playing rather bad football can take up decent tally. It has relevance as it tells us just how marvelous last season really was.

OK, let's simplify it then. THIS SEASON, how many points has Sherwood got against the top 4? And how any has AVB got against the top 4?

1 vs. 0 on 4 games vs. Top 4 to AVB, isn't it? Against Top 9 (seeing that there is gap between Soton/Newcastle and the rest, but we can also go just with Top 7 ie. Everton and ManU to add to Top 4) this season it's 3 points for AVB on 7 games and 15 points for Sherwood on 9 games. Now that's a gap. But then again as both were unable to beat Top 4, AVB couldn't beat Everton, ManU or Newcastle either.

Edit: Actually AVB didn't win a against single team currently in Top 11 of the PL this season.

He's worse than Ramos and Gross and they are the worst 2 we've had since I started supporting the club in 1987.

But when we were 16th or fighting relegation, we were shit and expected to be so. Whatever some say about our players, we have a very good squad and some very good players (Hugo, Verts, Kaboul, Dembele, Sando, Walker, Lamela, Soldado, Paulinho etc etc) are all good players, and manny of them will be key to their countries in the World Cup, but for some reason they are looking uninterested, shit, and lacking in confidence and that has to be down to the management or lack of, of them at least in some part
You cannopt compare this bunch of players to the Edinburghs', Dozzells', Ruel Fox's and Mitchell Thomas' of the past

They haven't shown themselves to be very good players. Paulinho looks like a worse version than Jermaine Jenas, Dembele is a decent player but isn't very good and Vertonghen seems like he is just a W***er who has no character who believes he is a lot better than he is.

Gross was a really bad manager but he was, at the very least, gracious.

For me, this guy is worse tactically than any manager I have seen in my 23 years as a Spurs fan. However, what makes it even worse is the utter classlessness he carries with him to every press conference like a case of genital herpes.

He's a repulsive individual.

I've never wanted a manager to be fired this much in my life.

He has competition for worst, but for me, he is unquestionably the most unlikeable. I genuinely can't think of a single positive redeeming feature about him. This is the first time I have ever felt so strongly against a Spurs manager.

Yet they will all play a key role for their countries in the World Cup......

I don't know if he's the worst but I have been checking the internet all day to see if he's been sacked/resigned.
I'm now expecting to see Pleat or Hoddle step in till the end of the season.

If it was going to happen it would have done by now.

The season ends in two months. There is very little to be gained from sacking him now.

FinnYid, is time for you to face reality. Pretty much everyone is now in agreement Sherwood has been in no way an improvement over AVB , he was at best a slightly backwards sideways move for us, at the very very best, that is.

You need to let go of this brave (but quite silly) little crusade of yours, its leading you nowhere mate. Guess what, PPG and all that shit doesn't really matter, anyone can see we're much less of a team now than we were under AVB, that's just how it is. That's the fundamental difference, under AVB we actually were a team, under Sherwood we're nothing but a fucking mess.

Under AVB we may or may not have ended up going backwards, we will never know, all we do know is that under Tim that's exactly what we have done. With 6 games still remaining, we have nothing to fight for, nothing to win, yet we still stand to lose many more things. That's just how far Sherwood has taken us.

No. And an easy no. So he got thumped by bigger teams, not like we haven't seen that before.

As bad as said defeats have been, happened under AVB too, and Redknapp. Credit given to Sherwood he's had a horrible list of injuries to deal with, constant criticism, yet he's still managed a win at Old Trafford, a win at home to Everton and the double over Southampton.

Is Sherwood a good manager? No. Is he a truly horrific Gross-level one? No.

There was a stat in The Evening Standard today comparing the number of points gained per team since Sherwood took charge.

We are level on points with Arsenal, Everton & Man Utd, with only the current top 3 gaining more points than the four teams below them.

If I have remembered this stat incorrectly, someone by all means post the link & correct me.

Whilst there are lies, damned lies & statistics, my interpretation of that, on the assumption I have remembered it correctly, is that he is not the worst manager we have ever had.

Considering the talent he has available, his return against the bigger teams is shocking not just the score lines, but the way we have been completely outplayed..

We've had other crap managers, but they haven't had squads as good as the one Sherwood has.
Are you delusional?

I think Sherwood is shit, but if you think our squad is even remotely good, you're sorely, sorely mistaken.

FinnYid is not worth it. He is hopeless. He has a hard on for Dum Dum Dim. At this point, I am convinced he is either said gym teacher or is relatives with said gym teacher.
