I'm a little tipsy, so all lovey dovey

Basically, much as I think Juande is a great first season cup winning machine, I can't help but miss the big man :-(

He was every-one's favourite uncle (well, bar some of the ****s who refused to accept the quite brilliant job he did at White Hart Lane). He was a man of his word. A man of integrity. I loved (and still love) Martin Jol.

Ramos is the boss we need, and despite me wanting Jol to stay over any potential Ramos appointment, I can accept that he's done a sterling job already. But after-match interviews really aren't the same, are they? :-( I love Gus as much as anyone else, but instead of chuckling (as I do when I hear Gus doing his interviews :-D), there was such warmth within hearing Martin saying his thing. He really did 'say his thing' too. He managed to say how he felt, but always somehow ensured the opposition or the referee were given respect.

I don't want this to be a 'should be have let him go/who's better: Ramos or Jol?' thread - let this be a thread where we can remember BMJ for who he was - and the happiness he brought to us for a very fun couple of years :-D

Good luck in Germany, big man :-D

I like Juande, but love BMJ. I have a feeling he'll be back. To be honest Christophe, I've never forgiven you for something you posted after the Aab game.

:eek:mg:

You're going to get that fuck off super memory out again, aren't you? :)

Did I praise Ramos and accept that it was right that Jol had gone? To be fair, in his first 2 months at the club, Ramos' subs were quite out of this World - and getting the desired results.

I'm actually not entirely sure what I said, and you've got to remember that after night games, I'm usually pissed as a fart :) Is there any chance you could find what i said? I'd like to see what I did wrong :-D

I can't be bothered to look it up, but we went 2-0 down against a totally shit team, then changed to a 433 (a tactic Jol often employed, though obvioulsy not often needed against the like of Aab) and came back to win 3-2. You said something along the lines of "I loved Jol, but this guy is something else" or you agreed with someone else saying it. I was to say the least shocked and disappointed. We outplayed every team we met in Europe under BMJ (even the games we lost) and there you were saying his replacement was "something else" for scraping a win against some shit from Denmark.:snooty:

"Something else" as in to suggest BMJ wasn't also this mythical "something else".

i still miss Jol also, there was just something about him that made the club seem more warming, cant quite put my finger on what it is! Ramos is the better manager i would agree with that, but i liked Jols personality and after game chats  though Gus seems to be able to do well at them also

That's a quite incredible memory you have on you there, Joey :) With a jog of my own noggin', I believe it was in fact me that said that (rather than me agreeing with someone else who'd said it).

I'm trying very hard to keep this within the 'let's keep this a Jol loving thread rather than a debate' limits... I still love the man, and always have. Regardless of on field performances/results, I honestly don't think I'll ever love Ramos in the same way I adore BMJ. But regardless of the first half, that 2nd half was pretty special.

To be honest, Joey, I'm going to leave it now, as this will turn into a debate, and that's really not what I want. I know a debate may make for a better thread, but that can wait for another time. I just want this one to be a shrine to my favourite manager we've ever had :)

Even though you are an insuator that BMJ isn't "something else." Anyway i've now spotted something I can never forgive Yid-ol for.

I love the Big Man. Not 'loved'. 'Love'.

He's the best manager we've had in my life-time. I'm 26 before arguments start!

His back-to-back fifths I fear won't be emulated - let alone bettered - for some time. He was the man to bring great things to our club. Will OneDay? I hope so... I really do.

It's a lovely though, isn't it? Martin coming back to finish the job he started...

"Well, Manchster United, Chelsea, Barshelona and Ajaxsh were intershted, but when Tottenham approached me about coming back, there wash no way I could shay no".

One day, Martin. One day.

Joey cuts and pastes every post you ever make into document for easy reference at a later date. A bit like a train spotter but with a twist.

 Awww I miss the big man too. I hope someone can send this thread to him so he knows we miss him. I feel a touch gay saying that, but as Ever said, I love Martin Jol and he loves me
