... just how bad we've been in the league this year :eh:

Started up a game of Football Manager 2008 today, and got the league season underway. With each game that came, I thought about how we did in real life in the same fixture...

First game of the season was Blackburn (home), which was a defeat. Next up we had Sunderland (away), which was also a defeat. Then we had Newcastle (away), which also ended in defeat. Those 3 were then followed by Everton (home), Arsenal (home) and Aston Villa (away) - all defeats too!

I guess the table really doesn't lie :-(

Right you are, but the Football Manager fixture list isn't the same. The point was that my first 6 games were all defeats in the 'real' matches.

I get ya!

So how did we do in 'FM world'

Tottenham 0-0 Blackburn (crap game)

Sunderland 2-1 Tottenham (Berba injured after 5 and out for 2 months, Woody sent off just after half time)

Newcastle 3-0 Tottenham (ermm...)

Tottenham 1-0 Everton (scraped it)

Tottenham 1-0 Arsenal :)dance:)

Aston Villa 1-2 Tottenham (again, just edged it)

9 points better off from those 6 game.

I think you may have avoided going the way of Mr Jol on that run, especially with the Arse win.

But losing to the barcodes???

No worries, already faxed my CV

In all seriousness, I remember reading some site where this geezer did actually apply for the Spurs (I think it was us) job after a manager was sacked. He sent through his FM CV and everything. He got a humourous, semi-serious reply from the club, which I thought was really nice :)
