I think my enthusiasm for Spurs is slightly on the wane, but that's mostly down to my waning enthusiasm for football generally.

Having already stopped going every week due to the ludicrously high ticket prices, I'm now expected to pay for two different subscription services if I want to see all the televised games. At the same time the players become more and more hateful (diving, swearing at refs, generally being horrible arseholes), the game is becoming less and less competitive due to a limited number of clubs having huge amounts of cash, (both in the Premier League and across Europe) and the rulers of the game seem to become more and more corrupt and removed from those who actually watch football.

I think with that general sense of the game slipping away, I find it hard to get as worked up about Spurs as I used to. I still hate it when we lose, but I hate it a little bit less every season, same as I cheer the wins a little bit less.

Sad but true.

Fortunately my feelings towards SpursCommunity remain completely undiminished.

Cool. PM me that Swiss bank account number and I'll wire you the agreed sum for your vote ASAP

Word. Shitty local American one sent, I hope you're cool with the lack of top notch security and any questions you may be asked. This general lack of security is reflected in the fact I've no idea how to get that line through the middle of the text.

Marriage and kids means I'm a bit of a part time supporter. Will always follow Spurs but if tomorrow the news announced that all football would be canceled I really wouldn't be too bothered.

Will always love the Club no matter what.

Feels like we're going to enter a low point at the moment but just have to suck it up. The sweet ain't the sweet without the bitter.

Well put it this way, I don't get in a mood or sulk about us loosing anymore...unless its west ham but then last season I became immune to that.

I love Spurs and have spent a fortune over the years traveling to watch them play.

I hate the way football has gone, I also hate some of the fan base that does nothing but bitch and moan all the sodding time if its not one thing its another. I hate armchair supporters who think that because they can win things on their puter games then football in the REAL world is as easy as it is on the puter games.

I hate the idiots who do go to the game who think by booing the players and team, slagging the players off every time they make a mistake is going to help us win games.

after Sunday, im still pretty angry as IMO Newcastle are a team of mercenaries, run by a buffoon of a coach and an owner who checked out of the football business about 5 years ago. Their fans are their only redeeming feature and im pretty sure thats something to do with recreational drug taking. So how a team of our history, finances and ambition manages to lose to them at home is beyond me. Only thing that will calm me down is either a massive win at the weekend or the opportunity to throw some over-ripe fruit at the entire squad.

I think Gary Neville (who I dislike) summed up how I feel about Spurs last night on MNF.

It is so frustrating at the moment and it hurts me deeply. What is the reason it hurts so much? The simple answer is because I just Love the club so very, very much.
The equation of the longer period of time one has supported Spurs, is a big factor in how bad one feels when things are not going well. That does in no way imply that the younger fans are nonetheless hurt, but the older fans have tasted and witnessed so many Glory, Glory years that they are more liable to feel the brunt.
Perhaps, loving the club is not a matter of ones' choice but more a matter of an affection and a combination of episodes. The longer one has experienced the highs and lows, the more he is prepared to wait in hope and in expectation for the better times.

One becomes attached, fascinated and addicted to a cause or a dream for which he is often unable to explain. But that is his cause, his dream, his own challenge, so to speak. And nothing will stop him or get in his way. Even if that will make him deeply suffer for it.

I am one of those. Spurs is my life and will always Love them.

For years it was a passion for me, now it just feels like an obsession. My feelings have definitely changed, win lose or draw I don't get the same buzz I did 5-10 years ago. I guess the disappointments we've suffered over the past few years have taken their toll, but I've also grown up, and I can't allow myself to get so carried away by a game played by multimillionaires who don't seem to care about the club, let alone the fans who follow it.

I don't care as much as I used to. I guess partly it's because I'm older, and also partly that the dynamic has changed so much, with the huge disparity in cash. It means I'm unlikely to see us lift the title in our lifetime, scrabbling around for 6th isn't particularly interesting.

Also the past 3 seasons have seen largely poor/slow performances, add that to the fact that I don't see value in the ticket prices anymore means I'm largely an armchair fan that is quite often driven to browsing the web whilst we're on due to boredom.

I genuinely feel that if the Mrs and I move to Aus as planned, I'll end up not watching us anymore.

I'll always love Spurs but I have lost so much optimism since Harry left. I just feel fed up these days.
