Breaking news from media outlets just now

Very odd timing considering the transfer window has closed.

I wonder if it's because he didn't get his targets and quit in protest? But you would have thought he'd have quit earlier in January to allow the new manager to get his signings in.

Timmy time?

Good excuse for him to duck out now and say he wasn't gonna get what he needed to keep them up.

Well, it really is turning into a 'Spurs Troll Fest' this week, isn't it.

I have had such a fantastic time at QPR," says Redknapp.

"Sadly I need immediate surgery on my knee which is going to stop me from doing my job in the coming weeks. It means I won't be able to be out on the training pitch every day, and if I can't give 100% I feel it's better for someone else to take over the reins.

"My relationship with Tony Fernandes has been one of the highlights of my footballing career and I wish the club every success. I am confident they will survive in the Premier League this year.

He'll probably get some random consultancy job at Bournemouth and fade away over the next couple of years

If they were in League 1 I would tend to agree, but I cant see them risking what they have built up by potentially upsetting the applecart and bringing in Redknapp just for the sake of it.

Another link for Sherwood.

That'll be it for Redknapp now.

I was astonished he went back into football after leaving us to be honest. I assumed he'd at best go and work in Qatar or something but he's stuck at it there for much longer than I expected.

Only manager to gets us into Champions League. Fond memories of his time here. Looked older and more haggard by the day at QPR. Sherwood nailed on. If so, Adebayor would probably have said yes.
