If he doesn’t move this summer I think he ends up at City next summer which I wouldn’t begrudge, he deserves a club that wins things.

It's still a disastrous outcome for us though, even if City would be the club you'd probably pick if it had to be English. But yeah, he seemed fucking desperate to go there a couple of years ago, and even went nuclear to get it which left an incredibly bitter taste.

Based on absolutely nothing, and given the previous “gentleman’s agreement” situation with the City debacle, I would guess that at the beginning of the summer, Kane said he wanted to leave and he and Levy agreed on letting him talk to clubs if the 100M price was met.

To keep his end of the new agreement, Levy accepted the 100M offer. Now it’s on Kane and family as to what they want to do. Hopefully they expected offers from elsewhere by this point and he’s up for staying a little longer.

People said its normal for players to run down contract, yes. But whether is it right to do that, in the context of Kane being so legendary for our club, I think that is the sticking issue. We also made him what he is today. There has to be a reciprocal relationship.

When we finally agreed a fee with Bayern it's not our fault he's hesitating to leave.

When we presented to him new deals, in addition to protecting the club's interest to prevent him leaving for free, most importantly he will also be earning much more than he currently does.

It has come to a situation whereby Kane shouldn't be having his cake and still eat it. He can but it's just not right for me personally and I believed for many others as well. His legacy will be ruined.

Do you honestly think the players are going to down tools because Kane might leave? Or maybe they all work together to try and have a great season to convince Kane to stay on. There's no world where we're not going to perform better with Kane even with 1 year remaining.

That's just hyperbole though - nobody has suggested that, certainly not me.

If you were Ange looking to stamp your authority and ingrain your beliefs and methods on a group of players you would be asking for 100% commitment. I don't think you can possibly expect that when you have a player - your star player at that - with one eye on his next club which could quite conceivably be a rival club.

Listen, I don't blame Kane at all as i'd be doing the same as i'm sure the vast majority of you would too in his situation but it's naive to think this won't be increasingly detrimental to what Ange is trying to build and instil here.

He can't force anything. The only way you could would be to tell him he's frozen out this season if he picks neither option. But obviously we are not going to do that. Even someone like Ange wouldn't have the balls, and Levy would never allow it.
