Well the point is that they sell in this financial year (by COB 30th June) and then they buy in the next financial year (starting on 1st July). That way they meet their obligations for the financial year that ends on 30th June and don't need to worry about FFP for next year until 30th June 2023, by which time they may have found other ways of ensuring they stay within FFP.

Personally I think both teams will announce an agreement on selling a player today. With Everton it looks set on being Richalison to us. With Inter it seems they're really trying to get either PSG or Chelsea to pull the trigger on Skriniar.
For sure IF that happens today then clearly the stories around FFP were true and clubs are taking them seriously.

Richarlison agreement appears near but im not sure a deal for Skriniar is as close....

You would imagine playing for Conte has a massive appeal for a defender who has been plying his trade in Italy. He only has to look at Serie A's defender of the year from last year (Romero) to see how good a move to Spurs could be for him.

Our increasing Brazilian contingent should help too.

Add to that our duo of former Juve/Serie A players to help him settle.
I think this could happen quickly, I don’t see Inter having the funds. Adding Bremer to Lenglet would actually be a good balance of styles.

Okay bremer update trying to agree personal terms with the player which is the biggest hurdle if we can strike this he’s coming ! He had his heart sent on inter but paratici is turning his head fee isn’t an issue ! with lenglet possibly coming the lesser lcb all loads may lead to bremer ?? .. Torres is the next one if this deal falls on its ass .

Don't get your hopes up on this. I was listening to a Spurs space and an Inter Journo was almost certain that Bremer would go there. He said there might be more of a chance nearer the end of the window if Inter still hadn't signed him, but I'm not sure if Conte will wait that long.
He also said the Inter situation (60m profit) only had to happen by the end of the transfer window, and not by today, which is very disappointing.

Edit: reading what WLB has written above, hopefully the Inter Journo was wrong.

I think this is a valid risk to the deal - but encouraging news none the less
