What is embarrassing is your grasp of the english language mate!

Just because Bentley hasn't played well for Tottenham you cannot deny that he has played well in the Premiership. At Blackburn he was good enough for Spurs, along with others, to pay big money to get him - yes it hasn't worked because Lennon has been too good and Bentley's attitude has, if reports can be trusted, not been up to scratch.

Gio does have talent, i wouldn't argue with that. But talent doesn't always make you a good player. Quoting that Barca have sold Eto'o and Ronaldinho is a bit daft considering that they had attitude issues with eto'o and got Ibrahimovic in his place (not a bad solution) and as for Ronaldinho, he has passed his best long before they got rid of him and now just plays average at best with a slight hint of brilliance, but nothing worth keeping at the best team in the world. Barca have always regarded the younger Dos Santos as the real talent and he has now got minutes under his belt for the first team and by all accounts looks very promissing - if they sell him this summer then i'll take your point about selling us Gio.

I do look at international football and have seen Dos Santos play for Mexico but international and domestic football are two very different beasts. The tempo and shape of the games are in complete contrast and therefore make a huge difference to the way players play. Technically gifted players often perform far better in international matches due to the time and space often awarded to them. How often have we seen a player emerge as the next big thing in a world cup or the euros and then never heard much of them again, or at least little positive? Too often.

In my opinion, and i am allowed it, there are too many supporters who think about what could be and miss what is actually happening. Spurs are doing well this season, we are more competitive than we have been in years. We have a better squad than i can remember in the 20+ years i've been supporting the club and we have a manager who is able to get more out of them than the previous couple. Why do we have to look at a kid who has NEVER played well for Tottenham, who was not that impressive at Ipswich and think that he is the answer to a prayer that doesn't exist?

Sorry to have upset you so much, but really support the whole team for once and stop all this idiotic selective support. You follow Tottenham not players 1, 23, 7, 6, 14 etc..
- Don't see where i've denied this. I just said that few players have been as shite as he has.....and few players have had as many chances too prove himself as he has.

- Really?

- It's just a little too easy saying that international football doesn't count when a certain player has shown great results in a number of games. But it's usually posted when some player isn't supposed to have what it takes.

- He had a really good time at Ipswich i'd say.

- Not upset at all. But mentioning Gio's name ahead of two english names (when wanting a alternative to open up Hull) certainly got you going.

Explain why Rose should be on our bench playing in the Premiership. What has he done to deserve that spot? Please don't mention that he has looked good in training cause if internationals is a poor way too spot quality the training ground surely wouldn't be any better.

You cant seriously be comparing Eto'o and Ronaldinho to GDS are you?
.
No i can't and i don't

But stating that selling a player does mean that he isn't any good made me take those 2 names as exemple

He'll get torn apart in that league.

I don't want him to go. I really want to see his Mexico form for us.

Me either but we know he won't get the chance with twitchy making the decisons. He's obviously has even less chance of playing than Rose so for his sake i guess the best decision must be to leave as soon as possible.

Shame the Premier League is nothing like North American football. But i agree, i'd love to see him turn it on for us. He has the credentials of a quality player. Just needs the right attitude and workrate to match his potential. Same could be said of Taarabt.

Also needs a manager who believes in him and youth...... Gutted for both GDS and Naughton the way they have been treated. Bale is only playing because of BAE injury otherwise he was on the scrapheap too......

There we go again with the official propaganda line about "the right attitude and workrate"...Based on what? Words from the current manager who has been saying contradictory comments about him and other players so often that it is almost impossible to take his words seriously now?

Note the link with yet another manager who worked with Gio - ie Rijkaard who is now at Galatasaray, as well as Roy Keane at Ipswich. The Gala link may of course be just smoke, but would those very demanding coaches rate Gio highly and want him back if he was this lazy trainer with bad attitude? Especially a strict disciplinarian and perfectionist like Roy Keane?

I find it funny how he was one of the Barca players shifted out when Rijkaard left. A team that is world famous for giving young players a chance at the big time. A team that still has his brother on their books. There was a clear problem with the attitude of certain players at Barca, and it led to the sale of Deco and Ronaldinho aswell as Giovani. So why would they sell Giovani? Its not like they lose patience with players like that. Not to mention how little they sold him for. There is obviously a reason we don't see much of Giovani, and there was a reason why Barca sold him. I'm guessing the reason for both is very similar.

And you'd have picked Bale ahead of BAE, would you? And Naughton ahead of Corluka? (Or even Hutton?)

It is hard to dispute that Gio may have had issues with his lifestyle at Barca at the time when Ronaldinho and Deco seemed to have veered towards the partying more than training hard. But if he really struggled with discipline it would not make much sense for him to come to Spurs under Ramos who put so much importance on hard training, discipline and diet.

I tend to believe those well placed sources like Guillem Balague who talked about Gio not really being in Guardiola's first team plans for understandable reasons and Gio wanting to develop himself into a first team player under Ramos who had a very good record in Spain for bringing on young players like Puerta, Capel, Navas.

According to the report I saw it will be a loan - that just mean it won't be with a few to a permanent transfer, but they didn't say that.

I would prefer it is 'Arry would have the patience and faith in him that he has shown Gareth Bale - but it's not really my decision, and I don't know (and shudder to think, soetimes) just what is going throgh 'Arry's mind.

I really am stumped as to why he's not had more opportunity at Spurs. Aside from the injury, which was just really, really unlucky, he's shown all the signs of being an impact sub of superhero proportions. When he's been out on loan his team mates, fans and manager have raved about him, he's lit up the Concacacacaf with Mexico and plays with a smile on his face - he enjoys his football so why, Harry, why won't you play him?? Drop him in behind the front two, see what he can do tear arsing about in a free role, i get the feeling he would produce results.

White shirt,
White shorts,
Dos Santos.

The boy's a time bomb

But we got our impact sub, well that was what he was supposed to be when we signed him, in Crouch. We lump it forward to him when chasing a game/trying to open up a tight defence and watch him weave his magic....

A loan deal is good, wouldn't want him sold just yet. He needs games so he can regain his confidence. I still think we could have used him while Lennon is out though.
