Ramos messed up because he played 2 wingers and an attacking midfielder?

Yes. Lennon is the smallest player in the Prem (fact) and Modric isn't much bigger. Gio has more muscle and is better in contact but still defense isn't his strong point.

Size has nothing to do with defensive ability other than on set pieces. Lennon constantly trackes back and stops players far bigger than him, while Modric tackles far more than either Jenas or Huddlestone. Giovani is bigger than both but I'd reckon that at present he is far less likely to put his foot in. Oh, and Roberto Ayala and Fabio Cannavarro are two of the shortest centre backs on he planet at 5ft9, yes both are considered amongst the very best of the past two decades.

ofcourse you can incorporate Modric, Lennon and Gio in the same team. Keane is past it tbh, he shouldn't rly be a first teamer next season. I'd play it like this:

------------Gomes------------
Corluka--King-Woodgate---BAE
-------Palacios--Viera---------
--------------Gio-------------
Lennon-----HUNTER-----Modric

Gio and Modric can easily interchange roles throughout the match, and if Gio is on the left then him and Lennon can swap wings a lot of the time. The creativity and pace on our attacks would be limitless and the opposition would be confused with who to mark a lot of the time. The only problem is that all three of them are "midgets", allbeit nippy and creative; but still midgets. That's why it would be impossible to incorporate Defoe in this system, 4 midgets upfront is not good. I'd only play this system away from home so Gio gets some 1st team experience, Defoe can always come on halfway through the match to it revert to a 4-4-2.

I didn't include Jenas because i know some of you would have started Jenas-bashing, and included Viera cos I do beleieve his sigining is imminent and because you need a defensive-minded midfeild leader in this system. I included Huntelaar cos i refuse to believe that we want to buy that clumsy oaf.

anyway gibbs, if vieira is signed then we'll only have three first teamers, lennon modric and defoe, who are reduntant at set pieces. al i'm saying is that i think there's space to have 4 shorties in one side and still defend set pieces well, it's all about coaching and organisation

Pleased for Gio and I think he'll go on to be an excellent player but I wouldn't read much into this tournament, It's a B team Tournament and when you consider some of the nations taking part that says alot.

Other players who weren't off drinking champers when they should've been somewhere else, other players that weren't snapped in the media pissed out of their skulls when they should be knuckling down.

Gio is obviously a talent, but when you're a kid trying to break into the first team you need to be seen to be getting your head down and working. Not convinced Gio has been doing that at Spurs up to now.
....and we know the biggest drunk of them all is King

And who has given you the facts that you take as proof

Oh well, looking on how we're doing business he'll probably be sold and we will bring in more gangsta-kids that can show off fancy beards and funny eyebrows and label them class and proper well behaved boys.

Perhaps he thinks that a manager that might sell would be crap. Don't try and score cheap points here please.

No cheap points trying to be scored...what you wrote doesn't make sense.

If that dude purposely wrote "Redkrapp" and meant that Harry would be or is in fact crap, he is a prat.

That's why I asked him if it was a typo, meaning an error, or was that not clear?

Neither - can see through 'Arry and his limitations. Crouch and Vieria tells you everything you need to know about his and the clubs ambition.

 'Nuff said, you are worse than I originally thought.

I mean the guy saved us from relegation, but CLEARLY, you can see through him and his 'limitations' because of some talented kid who showed not enough promise to be given a go and was shipped out on loan. I mean what a cheek 'Arry as to not give him a chance, he obviously has no idea.

But no, YOU can see through him. Well done. I love it when people write posts like yours, it's hilarious.

I think the only way to have GDS in the team is at the expense of Defoe or Keane. Unless we sign Vierra and drop JJ.

This could work:

-----------------Bent-------------------
--------------------------GDS----------
Modric--Palacios----Vierra-----Lennon

How many teams could put up with Lennon and GDS in close proximity? Bent will have almost unlimited creativity from this setup.

I don't rate Pav, Keane needs a form turnaround and Defoe can't score away from home.

It is unlikely though with Defoe being twitchys golden boy and Keane also being on of his signings.

Your system looked a bit mental though.
