Looks like he'd have a steep learning curve to fit in the PL. Doesn't sound like he could go straight into the squad, although i'm not clear how long ago the report was written.

Edit: just seen it was from April 2023.

Yep, i agree.

Love the fact that he'll front up defenders and take them on with his pace, but the physicality of the premier league may see him struggle until he somewhat toughens up.

I'd happily see him at Spurs, but i think he's an 'option' as opposed to nail on starter for us at present.

I agree.

Strange thing is when you see pictures of him he doesn't look particularly lightweight, maybe he needs some coaching on how to use his physical attributes more.

I don't know if you saw this one? It was the kick-off of the second half in Liége. That's typical for him. If he has a chance to shoot he will.

I asked in another thread but figured Id ask here as well ad it directly relates to him, does anyone know if he would need to be registered? This might have already been answered but he won’t turn 22 until after the season ends does he still qualify for a non registered spot? Or is it 21 and over?

For the 2023/24 campaign Under-21 players will have been born on or after 1 January 2002.

Orban is born on 17 July 2002 so no, he wouldn't need to be registered this season.

This whole saga reminds me of that scene in the first episode of The Wire where one of the cops gets asked why he hasn't got some info on D'Angelo Barksdale and he says something like "gimme a break, nobody in this police department had even heard of this guy last week and now he's some criminal mastermind?"

Here's my bet. He won't sign for us and there childish temper tantrums from grown men throughout the fan base.

Including from me.

He is the same 'vintage' as Sarr and Udogie i.e. no need to register this year, but we would then have three extra non-UK players to register in 24/25. So a second major exodus of current non-UK players required next Summer.
Lloris, Dier, Sanchez and Perisic all non-HG and in their final year (Lloris probably wont make it that far...), and unless some incredible transformations occur Reguilon, Lo Celso, Hojbjerg and Ndombele will almost certainly be gone by the end of next Summer as they'll be entering their last year.

Should free up a bit of space for a few more additions this year and the young-uns next.

I agree that moving 8 out should be doable - maybe Gil in place of Gio. But we are already 3 over the limit, so with Orban added, we have only two slots remaining for this Summer and next. One of which appears to be earmarked for the next new CB. I'm not suggesting that this isn't the right thing to do. But noting that if we have significant further plans for non-UK additions we will need to make some deeper cuts than people may be expecting.

Feels like really slow in the transfer forums since the weekend.

We're really going to sit on our hands until we shift more out aren't we?

Considering it'll be last minute loans or bargain prices for our deadwood can see it being slow for another 10 days or so.

Hopefully we at least move on Orban as he won't affect any squad building issues and lose any precious leverage.

Looks an absolute beast this lad. Won’t lie had never heard of him. Seen a few videos now thanks to my lad, and he looks tasty. Let’s hope we don’t penny pinch 🙄 (of course we will) and just pay up and get it done quickly.

Just guessing of course - but I suspect its a combination of getting our deadwood out, and allowing teams to replace the player(s) we are going to buy.

I would think this one shouldn't depend on outgoings. We don't have too many centre forwards and he doesn't take up a non homegrown space this season.
The centre backs I can definitely see needing to shift first before another coming in though.

We’ve sold the greatest striker in the world and we’re messing around trying to sign a prospect to replace him in the squad…..
We spent a club record fee on a No. 9 last summer. The fact that we'll be taking a punt on this kid in the same window that we sold Kane does not make him Kane's direct replacement. He'll likely start out as third-choice striker, it's absurd to suggest he's our plan to replace the club's record goalscorer.
