For clarity I’m not upset at signing this guy. I just can’t believe that we haven’t sorted out our forwards yet. We should have had a plan in place that didn’t affect league games.

I assume they felt fairly comfortable to start with Richy or Son for the first few games . I think you are being a bit too critical.

Think they wanted Muani but PSG rocked up, got a feeling he was the one we were looking at as number 1.

15 goals 14 assists last season

See a lot of Julián Álvarez here. Stocky build. Finds corners with both feet/aerially from all distances/angles and strikes a ball with the best of them. Very instinctual in the box. Average athletes but with quick feet and bursts of acceleration to create the space needed to strike. Presses well. In general his touch and technical qualities in the build up are average. Let him roam the box and receive in shooting areas and he’ll flourish.

I think the stewardship of the club have earned that criticism though!

If this guy is the guy we are really after then he should be in the squad by now. We have no forward options on the bench.

Would have been a great signing but it was always pretty clear he was going to join a club in the champions league who pay high wages.

Did anyone watch Orban in the WHU games last season played both subbed off in both didnt score hit the crossbar from the highlights

Only scored 2 goals in Beligum against teams Ive heard of Anderlecht in the league and Standard in the Playoffs. Scored 4 of his 9 against Zulte Waregem who finished second from bottom.

Watching his YouTube I would say a good 50% should be saved. Keepers and defence are really poor tbf. Think £30m is way too much of a risk. On the other hand half of the goals are quality. 🤷‍♂️

If this is true, just HOW can £30m be too expensive when we’re in early zero net spend? Even Bournemouth have 100m spend this season! But little old Tottenham have to balance the spreadsheets!

all Itk seems to have gone quiet. No news of outgoings, of things don’t pick up in the next week, it’ll be Groundhog Day AGAIN!

It’s not that we can’t afford him, it’s that we think they are over valuing him.

Oh come on, that's clearly not what it's saying - it's implying we think £30m is too much for an unproven, young striker. I have no idea if that's right or not, but the whole "little old Tottenham have to balance the spreadsheets"...well, yeah. We do. So do everyone apart from those seemingly playing by different financial rules i.e. Chelsea, City, PSG.

I have no idea if this guy is the second coming, or the next Ndombele. Who knows? And I'm deliberately not providing a view on what is fair value for him, because I don't know. But if you constantly went around buying players that you felt were over valued, you wouldn't survive very long

I do sort of agree with this though. It's weirdly quiet on any news that approaches credible or interesting. Incoming or outgoing. Strange

Why are you expecting to hear? The ITK might be sharing behind the scenes, or simply have nothing new to share. Its not a stick to beat the club with, we're not entitled to hear anything. Quit being so dramatic!

do we though? We still have that 50m that was drawn from an investment last season, £100m from the kane sale, this seasons budget should be untouched.

o get that they may not want to pay £30m for an unproved striker and I kind of get that (maybe just my frustration at lack of news about Kane replacement) .

it’s just we seem to want premium prices for our deadwood, but aren’t willing to stump up for another teams star player.

id say we operate like a lower prem team, but even Bournemouth have a higher spend than us.

It’s not that we can’t afford him, it’s that we think they are over valuing him.

And that is their prerogative.

We over value a lot of our players hence why we struggle to off load them.

Maybe we're not being reasonable/realistic enough in a lot of dealings.

It certainly has that whiff about it
