Why are you expecting to hear? The ITK might be sharing behind the scenes, or simply have nothing new to share. Its not a stick to beat the club with, we're not entitled to hear anything. Quit being so dramatic!
Okay maybe I shouldn’t say “itk has gone quie” but even if there isn’t anything new to hear, don’t you find that concernjng with 2 weeks left of the window and no sign of a cb or forward that we desperately need?

i don’t think being concerned about our lack of quality is being dramatic.

What sign are you expecting though?

maybe a deadline day special

or maybe we are just waiting to reduce our squad numbers first

With us out of Europe this one at least doesn't affect our squad numbers this season, as he is too young to be registered for the PL. So for once that one doesn't apply.

It's fair enough the club not overpaying at this stage of the window though. We don't know for sure what the alternative options are.

Maybe we look at this guy, compare him with Veliz, and where he is in his development, and think "you know what, we might just want to give Veliz a go, it's not clear Orban is much better". Who knows?

If that's the case, so be it, but we still need a CB and a winger.

But then its not your money is it, its the clubs money and they'll only pay what they deem as the worth of the player.

how is not the supporters money? We’re the ones tajt put money into the club with the highest ticket prices, money on replica shirts and clothing etc, even now charging us to watch pre season friendlies.

Maybe but Ange has said we won't see Veliz for awhile. If it's not Orban then fine but hurry up we need a striker and the season is here.

Him and one more young WF like Doku (wish we'd swoop in for him) would have supporters buzzing IMO.

We're in the classic case of the squad has potential under Ange but probably a signing or two short. Would rather we overdo it then figure it out than the opposite.

Plus, I truly believe Orban's form and confidence could allow him to hit the ground running with us, don't underestimate that.

Even that is bollocks though, 30m in this market is peanuts.
I think it would make him to most expensive player to move direct from a Belgian club EVER. I just don’t see him as having done enough to justify that yet so I’m not surprised the club are not just splashing that money and want to pay less, with more conditional elements based on performance/success.

It’s not that we can’t afford him, it’s that we think they are over valuing him.
I'd say that in Levy's case he seems to think that every player is overvalued that he's not trying to sell. The real question is how far apart are we in terms of what we're willing to pay and what they value him at, because I can guarantee that will be the case with literally every player we go in for.

Maybe.

But sometimes you just have pay for that x factor vibe.

This kid definitely has that x factor feel to him, and if he's a hit and worth 60 million in a year or two 30 million is fuck all now.

And that is their prerogative.

We over value a lot of our players hence why we struggle to off load them.

Maybe we're not being reasonable/realistic enough in a lot of dealings.

It certainly has that whiff about it
To be honest mate, lots of posters are happy to sell low and buy high just to see deals happening.

A lot easier to spend someone else’s money right?

Good point. Veliz is younger, more highly rated and has better first team experience. And yet cost a lot less. It’s not surprising we are baulking at their price.

I'm not saying it's as simple as I make out, just think we're a little guilty of it from time to time and hinders our ability to shape the squad we need.

We don't desperately need a forward or CB. However, I agree that there is room for improvement in both areas.

If Richy still hasn't shown enough by Christmas I'd wager we'll start looking desperately for a replacement. Before then I'm assuming the club wants to get our second most expensive signing a chance as a regular starter.

Doku is going to City unfortunately. We should be focusing on Williams (even Gnonto would be decent)

Unfortunately £30m now is £10m 5 years back that's what's happened to prices
Very true, plus he's a CF so comes with extra premium. I'd even say that £10m 2 years ago is equivalent to 30 today due to the Chelsea deals and Saudi influence. To put into perspective, we paid 10m for a completely unknown Jack Clarke, how did that one work out.

I think we probably do.

Richarlison hasn't been the most reliable in terms of fitness, on the weekend we didn't have an alternative for him and i think Dane will be going on loan, Ange has said we won't be seeing Veliz for a while so that leaves one 1st team striker.

Just have to look at Alex Scott to Bournemouth for 25m
