Are we the only side who are deliberately not using too much energy in the first half in order to go full pelt in the second half? It’s clearly tactical as it’s happening every game at the minute. Maybe it’s a work of absolute genius but surely as an overall we’re just using the same energy if we end up having to chase games.

Apart from Conte, Stellini, Kane and Lloris all stating that is not the case you are bang on ?

Two observations from the first half (but not really anything to do with the football played in the first half.)

1. How fucking spoiled were we to have Jan and Toby at the back for all those years, the difference in quality is night and day. (Yes I know this has been mentioned a million times before.)
Yeah I mentioned this the other day. We often list players who we haven't been able to effectively replace and those two hardly get a mention. When you look back our confidence issues all stem from around that time when they couldn't be relied on week in week out.

We really miss that defensive stability they gave us.

Gil, Spence, Sarr?
Obviously all rubbish as they don’t play no matter how badly we are playing or how many injuries we have. Like many others they need to find another club if they want to make it as players.

Like someone mentioned, playing players without WC reservation may have more energy and commitment. There's really no need to run the likes of Kane and Hojbjerg down the ground.

Skipp, Hoijberg, Bissouma, Doherty and sessegnon.
Apart from Hoijberg who looks tired, where is the quality and creativity to feed the strikers coming from.
Kane will drop deep and the you just have perisic.

I think some players struggle to play on the turn, so what ever direction they are facing when they get the ball, that's the direction they will most likely play it back. .

I honestly wonder how they made it as professional footballers if they are incapable of taking the ball on the turn and have no awareness that in doing so you put your body between the opposition player and the ball.
