How he could watch the Bournemouth first half and think this team would work again. We need so bloody pace on the pitch and someone who can actually bloody beat a man

Bissouma is playing well.

Lacking a lot of movement. Stood still waiting for the ball.

Bryan and Kulusevski on would help change that, even Bentancur if needed.

The amount of times the ball gets into a positive position and then it ends up back with Dier, in my opinion is more down to certain players not having the ability or belief to play forward and would rather play safe.

It's alright asking "why don't we press higher?" or "Why don't they play with more energy?' But in order to do that you need brave players who are happy to go head to head with the opposition or take them on. That can set the tone.

We simply don't have enough players who are comfortable with these things unless they absolutely have to.

Great first half of football. Almost perfect application of Conteball. We expended almost no energy, gave our defenders most of the ball to shuffle to and fro, and kept our attackers nice and rested on the bench. The only flaw was not giving up a goal. We'll need to address that early in the 2nd half if we're to go and win this, but excellent otherwise.

One of Conte's greatest mystery is why he doesn't like to use a creative playmaker. ?‍♂️ We could have really signed one and do one tonight.

Just to add, I love the way Lenglet zips the ball into players, whilst others trickle their passes.

Probably been repeated many times in this thread, but tonight Bissouma's really looking like the player we know him to be.

Two observations from the first half (but not really anything to do with the football played in the first half.)

1. How fucking spoiled were we to have Jan and Toby at the back for all those years, the difference in quality is night and day. (Yes I know this has been mentioned a million times before.)
2. For a full match a single commentator is just fucking dreadful. It's just the same monotone voice all the fucking time.

Can we afford to take any opportunity for a trophy for granted?
This season we can. I would understand if he’s playing a side that could work but he’s not. I get we have injuries but the balance of the side is completely wrong. Yo can play a side of defenders and Kane with no pace and dribbling. At least gil can take players on, at least spence has pace and can take players on. He’s going to destroy skipp confidence laying him in that position

Get some of our 2nd string out there, they'll have a bit more desire to run at Forrest's 2nd string hopefully. Understandably, the rest are either a bit tired, a bit distracted by the WC or a mixture of both.

Bit concerned how we're going to approach the second half now without a goal to chase.

But seriously, apart from that mad 5 minutes where Forester forgot where the goal was we had decent control. Forest look sharper though, and we continue to play at this soporific one-paced trot whether we are knocking the ball about at the back or attacking. Despite the apparant lack of urgency everything still looks rushed and our passing is either overhit, underhit, or two yards away from the receiving player.

Bring on Gil for Kane and we win this 7-0.
