It is quite amusing. The report says they intend to meet with a number of clubs and the only name that gets dropped is Spurs. Regardless of my thoughts on the matter I bet nothing will develop regarding a deal with us.I will also view this news update as pinch of salt, ahead of NLD. I wouldnt be surprised if this is somehow intentional update leak from Levy...
It’s completely different. And it’s frankly laughable that you’d suggest it was anywhere near the same thing.I’m going to be totally honest, I’m not going to bring Joe Lewis into it at all, but I still use Google, Amazon, Visa, Disney, PayPal and Sainsbury’s. And I bet a lot of not all of us use some of them, which is not really much different than supporting a club that has a similar minority stake owned by one of those countries you mentioned.
If a leopard won’t change their spots then we must change the leopard ?Have always been against this but it gets to a point where it’s going to need oil (or oil like) money to remove Levy. And I’m all for the latter happening now.
The Qataris and Saudis all own minority stakes in all of those businesses. But way to totally miss the point ?It’s completely different. And it’s frankly laughable that you’d suggest it was anywhere near the same thing.
When did Amazon last execute 81 people in one day?
When did Disney last castrate someone for being gay?
Have Google stoned any women to death for adultery in the last 12 months?
Can you tell me how many people PayPal have put on trial for blasphemy in the last decade?
When was the last time Visa imprisoned someone for witchcraft?
Sainsbury’s ??? fucking Sainsbury’s?! Are they taking journalists out into the desert beating them to within an inch of their lives and leaving them there now?
How much they worth?
You are the kid of person the Putins, the human rights abusers and the sports washers call a "useful idiot". You are doing their job for them, making their arguments for them. There is no moral equivalence here. Give it up.I’m going to be totally honest, I’m not going to bring Joe Lewis into it at all, but I still use Google, Amazon, Visa, Disney, PayPal and Sainsbury’s. I’m not using morale equivalence at all, I’m saying that if people are outraged about the thought of them holding a minority stake in Tottenham, and will stop supporting the club, they should be consistent and stop using other businesses/services that are minority owned by them too.You are the kid of person the Putins, the human rights abusers and the sports washers call a "useful idiot". About 220B I think
Yea let’s do itAbout 220B I think
I think there’s also a point of how it would actually affect our spending. I’m not entirely sure we would see any significant increase in money spent on players as they would only have a minor stake in the club. How much they worth?
Fucking hell I did a bit didn’t I ?The Qataris and Saudis all own minority stakes in all of those businesses. But way to totally miss the point ?
While I’ll agree to disagree about them having a minority stake in someone like Tottenham or Braga as any different, I do agree that outright ownership is a different beast all together as with the clubs you mentioned.Fucking hell I did a bit didn’t I ?
I still don’t see it as the same thing though tbh. That’s just investment. They aren’t buying the likes of City Psg and Newcastle as a nest egg. It’s about politics and soft power.
I don’t want them anywhere near the club. I’d rather go back to being owned by Sugar.
Sure but they’ll can prob call in some favours and get big sponsorship deals like city doI think there’s also a point of how it would actually affect our spending. I just don’t think that a minority investment will stay as a minority investment. I could just about tolerate them sponsoring the shirt or stadium that would still be awful imo. But having an actual stake, and a sizeable one at that? No thanks. While I’ll agree to disagree about them having a minority stake in someone like Tottenham or Braga as any different, I do agree that outright ownership is a different beast all together as with the clubs you mentioned.
And I can totally understand someone not wanting them to invest
