Would've been another game had Huntelaar still be on though. Robben easily MOTM for me.

Robben plays on the right usually.

with all England defenders backing up so fast and so deep, he had a free role to run everywhere.

Welbeck is pants and other than that late goal, Young was woeful, like Johnson.

Sturridge, Parker, and surprisingly Downing played well. Look at the depth of talent for Holland, it's another class.

I only watched the first half as I changed over for Masterchef but by the sounds of things Stuart Pearce should be given the job full time.

Actually I think Holland have some very ordinary players - as well as some good ones and a couple of exceptional ones. But they are better coached and play to their strengths.

Welbeck is no world beater but he did a decent-ish job tonight doing simple stuff. Showing up, holding up and laying off, and it fitted the system England tried to play.

Young and Johnson weren't brilliant tonight but at least England tried to pass the ball tonight, instead of the awful bollocks they've been playing for the last god knows how long.

It was even better when that twat Gerrard went off - who insists on trying to kick every ball 50 yards instead of making a 5 yard pass to feet.

Don't be fooled by world rankings that said Holland 2/3 and England 5/6 or whatever. In the real world these teams should be about 20 places apart, yet a relatively inexperienced England side looked pretty cohesive, never let Holland build up momentum and dominate, pressed well and passed better than most games I've watched lately, having some decent spells of possession.

The sooner England clear out the old wankers like Gerrard, Lampard, Terry etc the better.

I'm just watching it on Sky+ now. Don't spoil the outcome for me, but is it just me, or is the competition a bit weak this year ? None of the chefs have been very impressive have they ?

France dismantled Germany at Bremen in the second half today. They look a whole different beast now and they didn't even have Benzema on the pitch (Giroud played well though).

They are a team to keep an eye on in the euros

Actually pretty encouraged by that performance.

This is the kind of team that the management should stick with.

I'd still have lecott in over smalling and cahill though, and I'd have lennon over walcott and young. Throw in Wilshere for Gerrard and you have a pretty young team right through which could develop, learn to play together, without fear to target the 2014 world cup and actually stand a chance.

Best england performance for some time in my opinion.

Wembley needs to become an atmospheric stadium again. I mentioned it last night but that brass band just kills the atmosphere. Engish football grounds are famed for their atmosphere and witty songs, at England you just hear the twat with the trumpet. My video from the CC final 08 shows how much noise us Yids can make there.

The band was decent in 96 as a bit of something different, now it's utter dross. Flogged horse. Even Sheffield Wednesday banned them.

Babel had a quiet game I thought. Oh wait, he wasn't even in the Dutch squad! Wow, a bit surprising that. I guess that after his single-handed dismantling of Switzerland last year, they're keeping him under wraps for the time being. It wouldn't be fair on the rest of international football after all.
This is where someone says he's injured.
Only Lucas has more footballing power.

Chinless twat.
