Frazier Campbell? Jeezus, would be better off with DJ Campbell.

Downing has no goals and no assists in the EPL this season. Surprised Mancienne didn't get a call up as well.

The two that stand out on that list are, as said above, Walnut and Drowning. Both have rightly been highlighted as massive underperformers this term, but at least Drowning has the excuse of a relatively new club and style of play. Walnut has been pedalling his wares at the Woolwich for years now, he's got no excuse other than being shown up for the one trick pony he appears to be.

Other than them two, once again, the midfield looking slightly over the hill compared to the rest of the youthful squad, but i suppose Pearce is as ingrained with the England ethos as any previous manager he's worked with or under. We need a new man with new idea who doesn't feel any kind of debt to the FA for having faith in him or some other horseshit - they have no faith in any manager, they simply hope he'll bring success as it will reflect well on them.

good to see some youngsters getting the chance to impress before the euros.

Indeed, real young inexperienced squad that, be good to see the likes of Rooney, Gerrard, Barry, Cole etc. Not heard of them before.

Firstly, Fraizer Campbell? Wow, we really are desperate. Secondly, Defoe has been in MUCH better form than Darren Bent all season.

Why is Oxlade not in the squad? He has been the most impressive English winger in the league in the past month or so. Why is Walcott there?

I am sorry but English selection is pathetic nowadays, we seem to be picking players on name, rather than form.

Crouch must have given up all hope of getting back into the squad, unless redknapp takes over of course.

Rooney should be in the squad and has anyone English been any better than Gerrard or Barry this season? As for Cole he's clearly still the best English left back (although Baines runs him close).

Agree about Walcott's inclusion being odd, particularly when there is a better player at the same club, but other than that I'm not sure who else there is to include tbh.

Most of what I would consider the 'future' is in that team and if we can unearth a good young Parker/Barry style player together with a decent young left back, there are some good signs for the future.

Hart

Richards/Walker Smalling/Jones Cahill [Left Back]

[Defensive Midfielder]

Wilshere Cleverley

Young/Johnson Rooney Sturridge/Wellbeck

Given time to gel I reckon that team would do okay.

thats still a young side that could be given a chance to make the squad this summer.

The Likes of Defoe, Dawson and Lennon could have made it, and I wouldn't have had Walcott in the squad at all.

Rooney, Barry, Walcott and Downing shouldn't be there for various reasons.

The Ox should have been included and I don't see the point in having three right backs in the squad, four if you include Smalling as an RB.

Are people forgetting Rooney is banned for the first two games of Euro 2012? So tell me, WHY should he be in the squad, when we should be using all the striking positions for a friendly to experiment and determine WHO will lead the line when we kick of Euro 2012.

Gerrard has not been back for that long and although he has put in several good performances I am not convinced he will ever be back to his best for England.

We know what Barry and Parker can do and both will be at Euro 2012 unless any injuries occur. But if injuries do occur, who do we select? Because we are not using many players besides the usualy group. Carrick was a good shout, someone who has worked hard and deserves to be back in the England squad.

As for Ashley Cole, why are people still obsessed with him? People OBVIOUSLY have not watched him in the past few months, his performances have dropped much like Chelsea have defensively. He is still a good left back yes but not as good as he once was. Again, people seem to see the name "Cole" and natrually think he is the best LB in the league. Even my Chelsea mate thinks everyone in defence has been poor in the past few months.

Who's to say he won't experiment with the strikers? Doesn't prevent Rooney from being in the squad, particularly when there are no suitable alternatives.

Who would you 'experiment' with in centra midfield instead of Parker and Barry? The only name I've seen is Carrick and people know as much about him as the others so I'm not sure what the difference is.

And as for Cole, although he's not had a good season, who other than Baines (who is in the squad) has been better than him?

I'm a harsh critic of the England setup generally but it's hardly as if Pearce has ignored a vast swathe of talented English players. That's pretty much as good as it gets.

And people wonder why the fans are turning their back on England when you see the likes of Downing and Walcott in the squad. Downing only gets in as he's the ONLY english left footed winger in the whole world and walcott is living off his pace.

Pearce must want to get rid of the job before he starts. I wonder if he had a sneaky word with H before he picked the team.
