...and presumably Man U signing Eriksen would make it less likely they’d sign BF. Think of it as swapping Eriksen for Fernandes and it doesn’t seem at all bad.

Really? Selling our second best player to our direct rival and getting a player in return who’s not as good seems pretty shite to me.

I understand the signing of Fernandes as I think even if CE stays for the remainder of his contract this is an alternative for many reasons. Set pieces and assists and goals - he is a true statistic's signings in terms of his outlay. As someone said yesterday I think he would also take the burden off Dele and Sonny in terms of goals from midfield and anyone other than Harry.

Even if Eriksen does sign, there are rumblings in the media it will contain a release clause, so whilst we are protected financially, we still lose control of keeping him.
I’d be inclined to sell, and to be honest it wouldn’t bother me even if it’s United, so long as we get the appropriate value to bring in his replacement. Fernandes seems like that player, technically proficient, good set pieces, strikes the ball well from deep, vision and workrate.

Martial Dybala Rashford
Eriksen Matic Pogba
Shaw Maguire Bailly AWB
De Gea

At the rate they’re spending there is only so long United can be kept out of the top 4. Would be really sad to have to help them out at this stage.
They could spend a £1bn but if Pogba is still there and Olé is manager they won’t achieve anything. It is a certainty Olé won’t last the season and that Pogba will continue to throw his toys out of the pram. Maguire isn’t even in the top 10 CBs in the league, laughable that they are paying £80m for him. They are a club with lots of money and no intelligence.

I'll be watching the Supertaca with interest tonight. Kicks off just before 9pm, so wouldn't expect any further news until tomorrow though unless Keizer says anything in a post match interview.

I might try and watch. He’s bound to be asked about it at some stage so we might get an idea of what’s going on.

I really, really hope we can sign Fernandes and Lo Celso in these next 4 days. They would be a perfect addition for us and Poch can work his magic.

If Eriksens head isn't in it any more, then yeah, get rid. Poch will only want people giving 110%.

But please, please, please Tottenham.. sign Fernandes and Lo Celso

Wow. If he goes to United I’ll lose all respect for him.

If he goes to a Liverpool it’ll be a nightmare.

I don’t see why that would be holding us up though, get the two players in and then negotiate his departure...

Liverpool would make sense from his perspective - it’d be bloody awful.

CE leaving is holding everything up...been told he could be going up north, which is strange...definitely want BF and GLC not or....was told we want 3 which maybe refers to Dybala too?

Fernandes, Lo Celso AND Dybala?

My people will be in touch over settlement of my dry cleaning bill, you fiend.

Even if he has been stringing us along, we were told getting in Lo Celso wasn’t dependent on him. Guess we know better now.

So a few weeks back, signings weren’t dependant on eriksen leaving, yet now they are? Same old spurs!
Even if he has been stringing us along, we were told getting in Lo Celso wasn’t dependent on him. Guess we know better now.
Incomings weren't and still aren't as I see it however it seems that it is now very likely that Eriksen won't sign and will leave so we have gone in big for another player.
Fernandes wasn't a priority but now is and it is because of Eriksen so it's not really the same as saying signings are dependant on Eriksen leaving, in my humble opinion.
Actually it does seem that the Eriksen situation crystalised so we acted quickly which suits me fine.
