Even if we did sign BF and GLC, selling Eriksen to a PL rival and strengthening them (especially Utd) would be sickening.

Obviously there’s no guarantee it will work out for him there (see Alexis), but there’s also no guarantee BF or GLC will be as good as Eriksen here either (language, change of league, change of culture).
There are never any guarantees in life - sometimes you just need to take the risk and see what follows.
If he doesnt want to be here, then he has to go. If it has to be to Utd then so be it.
Though it goes against the grain, Levy now just needs to get GLC and BF across the line - even if CE hasnt yet left. He wont want to overpay but believe there is a deal to be done in both instances.
Always a risk then that CE digs his heels in and we are left with all 3, and that is the risk for no guarantees

Don’t do it to yourself my man ?
I am just going by @ValenciaYid comments here. All things said, my personal belief is we will sign one of GLC,BF and I still expect Eriksen to sign a new deal (atleast for a short period)....Though, each day it goes, I am more resigned to fact that CE is leaving

I watched Utd against Milan the other day and they look turgid in midfield - would be amazed if they got top 4 with that squad. However, if they get Eriksen and Dybala on top of Maguire they're suddenly a genuine contender again.

If we want to strengthen sufficiently we might not have much choice, but I have a bad feeling this would come back to bite us in the league.

Martial Dybala Rashford
Eriksen Matic Pogba
Shaw Maguire Bailly AWB
De Gea

At the rate they’re spending there is only so long United can be kept out of the top 4. Would be really sad to have to help them out at this stage.

Or he's playing one deal off against the other as a bartering chip. I hope not since I'd love us to get both of them in and then stop wondering how we stand with Eriksen. The early transfer window closure puts us in a difficult position with Eriksen where he can leave after our window shuts. If he won't commit now we should accept he's not interested in THFC and act early to deal with the situation.

Eriksen can’t leave after the UK window closes if Levy doesn’t allow it. Even though of course having a disaffected player is not great either. Having a disaffected manager is even worse so let’s hope it doesn’t come to that. If Levy screws up by not finalising either Fernandes or GLC the 10-20 m difference he refuses to pay will be chicken feed compared to the huge losses we will almost certainly make in that scenario.

This is fun.

I actually genuinely mean it.

We need a refresh and this could be it.

However, as things stand, the below is my current belief (which means fuck all)

Signing 1 of the three mentioned (even with Eriksen going) = believable but not a guarantee.

Signing 2 of the three mentioned (even with Eriksen going) = hard to believe or see with 4 and a bit days left.

Signing all 3 of them (even with Eriksen going) = we must have been sold to Facebook or Amazon or some multi trillionaire.

Then just one to add for luck....

Signing all 3 of them AND Bale (even with Eriksen going) = I’m dead.

Anyway, like I said.... this is fun.

I can understand we want to move him on but I can’t see that we’d be that desperate that we’d let him go to Man U given the transfer history. Plus it would be sickening seeing him play for another English club. Stranger things have happened though.

If fernandes is the closest like for like player we can get hopefully we push it through though.
But the alternative would be us bringing in only one of GLC or Fernandes and Eriksen going for nothing a year later or having a very disruptive August 8th- September 2nd.

If we can maximise value now, even if it's to a rival, well be able to restructure on our terms. I think that's important.

He wont sign up, Real arent interested enough, hes clogging things up and they will throw silly money at it....

...and presumably Man U signing Eriksen would make it less likely they’d sign BF. Think of it as swapping Eriksen for Fernandes and it doesn’t seem at all bad.

Ladies and gentlemen, the best way to experience the transfer window.

Im 50 50 think he will go, even Poch said back in April/May that if he doesn’t sign he will be sold or sign a precontract with Madrid in January. I just think selling one of the most productive players in the league to a title/top 4 rival isn’t something we’d want to do nowadays never mind the price or if it allows us to sign fernandes. What if fernandes bombs and Eriksen continues doing what he’s done at Man Utd. We’d look right mugs.

Have we actually been working on this deal behind closed doors with Utd then? If not we're gonna be leaving things very tight given how much Levy will want to rinse Woodward for every penny he can. Also kinda odd that there isn't anything in the press.
Makes sense. Utd want Fernandes, so do we. We go to United to advertise Eriksen so we can kill two birds with one stone giving us a free run at Fernandes with the Eriksen situation resloved too. Then it seems like we will try to conclude Lo Celso deal separately.

Eriksen is a proven commodity in this league and has been a central piece in Poch's system for the last 5 years.

vs.

Fernandes, Lo Celso, whoever.... we are banking on potential and hoping that their form in poorer leagues translates (or improves!) to the Premier League.

My no. 1 preference is that CE signs his new contract and commits to us for the next 3-4 years. A revitalised CE is better than any new signing.

Unless that new signing has 'Bale' on the back of his shirt...

No disrespect to the ITK, but the idea that Levy is going to spend 200m in a week does not sound realistic to me.

Think if Eriksen leaves this week (and maybe a few others), there is no chance of Fernandes, GLC and Dybala happening but could well see Fernandes, GLC and Sessegnon.
