Hopefully not Bruno. If CE goes and we are getting Eze in the summer then these would be our options

Attacking Mids or Wide Forwards - Moura, Alli, Son, GLC, Lamela, Sessegnon, Eze

Deeper midfielders - Ndombele, Dier, Sissoko, Wanyama, Winks, Skipp, Fernandes

I'm pretty happy with the attacking options. Of the deeper players Dier, Sissoko, Wanyama, Winks and Skipp aren't good enough in my opinion. Maybe GLC can play there if needed, Alli is awful there. Fernandes we have no idea about yet and Ndombele needs to prove he can get fit.

Let's go all out for Zakaria or similar

Praying this is who Herc is referring to. He'd fit us (and the prem) so perfectly, but I just feel the price is too steep.

If we rate him and mourinho wants him then get him.

Eriksen off to inter for £15m, add £45m and spread the payments.

He’s offered £98k a week by utd apparently so we can easily match/beat that.

No point keep going for cheaper, inferior alternatives if your top target is available.
I can’t believe levy hasn’t done this

It’s so easy, wtf

I think we're setting ourselves up for disappointment. I just can't see Levy going for this, even if Eriksen goes.

I think he will, he just doesn’t trust Eriksen to go.

If Eriksen goes this window before Man U can tie up a deal for him I personally think he’ll come to us.

Here’s hoping my friend. ?

The fact that Herc is being coy about the Eriksen replacement despite our interest in Bruno having been public for ages suggests to me it may be someone whose name isn't out there yet. Given their financial troubles, would Sporting really play ball with Levy's creative accounting?

Call me crazy, I might prefer Dani Olmo. I think he's a bit more versatile in that he could play at RW as well because he's quite a bit quicker and could operate off the right in the forward line in a 4-3-3

Fingers crossed they think they're getting a great deal and Levy has worked it that they pay back our stadium loans

Been thinking exactly the same thing. The price being reported for Milan's interest in him is €30m (£25.5m), same as was reported in the summer. Surely it makes more sense to bring in Olmo who would bolster our options in both midfield and attack for that price than it would to bring in Bruno for the €60-70m Sporting want. We could put the money saved toward a striker or toward the DM that we all know we need yet which we never hear any links to.

Tbf, I remember Herc being hush hush the night before Mourinho was appointed the next morning, and wouldn't explicitly say it was him (but intimated it) so I think he likes to keep it quiet whenever possible. It's obviously a sensitive situation so

Could he play in a 3 man CM with Ndombele and a deeper player?
Bruno's best position is as a 10, in a similar way to it being Dele's best. But he can also play as an 8, in a similar way that Dele can. But, if you were to rank how good each player is in each position, I'd go like this...

Dele 10
Bruno 10
Bruno 8
Dele 8

He is better as a 10, but he's still excellent deeper.

When Jose is talking about a midfielder who is half 8 and half 10 then there's very few available who look like they have the goods quite like our pal Bruno

Mourinho quoted as saying about BF. When asked about his countryman, Jose Mourinho said: "We are not a club that is going to make big transfers in the market, nor is it going towards players who are already developed or at a certain level of expectation, also economically.

"I would definitely say no because Bruno is a player of a level and value that is not for us."

Time to put this one to bed and close the thread.

Isnt that just Mourinho playing a game tho? He knows what a transfer like that would do for us. Optimistic, but it could be true.

Very much like the Zaha situation isn't it? He's trying to leave amicably but they need an unrealistic fee for him due to various clauses.

Watch him sign for Utd tomorrow while we haggle for an extra 2m euro from Inter for Eriksen.

Gladbach are having one of their best seasons, zakaria is integral to that.
