To be honest - based on recent performances - a plastic bag full of toothpaste would be an improvement on Eriksen.

I'd be up for giving Lo Celso a go instead of the bag though. He might do alright.

ITK seems to think we have a deal for Eze in the pipeline. He'd take a while to get up to speed IMO but I can't see us getting Eze and another high profile Eriksen replacement. Jose seems pretty sure that Dele plays that role now although obviously different to Eriksen.
I thought Eze played wide rather than central, I'm mistaken by the looks of things, it would certainly be crowded - dependent on out goings (during the summer).

It will be interesting to see how it all plays out.

Yeah well I guess I'm going off my personal opinion that I don't really see Lo Celso playing the CAM role. I see him as an 8, but also with the potential to play the 10 if the main 10 is out. His characteristics doesn't strike me as a pure 10, he likes to get about a lot and link up play in various areas

You might be right.

I just haven't seen evidence that Mourinho see's him there. Also he had his best season playing for Betis as a number 10(and occasionally striker) where as he apparently struggled for PSG playing as a number 8.

Yeah, you're right. I guess if the manager is playing him in that position, we just gotta roll with it. But yeah if so, Alli and Lo Celso would be enough. However, another top creative 8 would be required.

Isn't Gedson the new creative 8 to understudy Ndombele?

As far as ITK has said (Herc) we are still looking at DM to play alongside Ndombele.

I'm greedy. Seriously, I don't think Gedson and Ndombele is enough. We really need to push on.
Adding from this though, I do personally see it being Ndombele, Lo Celso and Gedson.. in that position, whereas Alli and a top new 10 in the CAM role

More than anything else, I'd be excited to sign Bruno because of his set piece delivery. We could add 10+ goals a season easily just by having someone capable of taking corners and free kicks.

Still don't think it'll happen though.

Anyone but Eriksen and we’d see an increase in return.

He's playing for Sporting against Benfica tomorrow so not done yet. Feels like last summer a bit. Looked nailed to Utd, faded out and we made a late move. Maybe Utd get their man this time but I hope we do instead!

The Cult of Bruno will keep believing until he's holding up a rival's shirt; even then, we will still retain an ounce of hope.

Potentially, however aren't they short on cash? One bad injury and this goes up in smoke

I get your point and defo agree, why jepordise, but im not sure where the story for they short on cash came from, according to 'Transfermarket' website they made 26M net profit in the summer and according to FT their net income last years was -2.8M Euros , so i wouldnt say they are in a financial situation

Interesting thought posed on Twitter that maybe the deal is stalling thanks to Jorge Mendes because we want the player but want to sell Eriksen first.

Incidentally that's looking all but done now for 18m euros.

That really shouldn't make any difference, Eriksen needs replacing as he'll be off for free in the summer anyway.

Sure but it's better to free up the wages and get around £15m from Inter before sanctioning a move for Bruno. After all, what if we signed Bruno first and then Eriksen deal fell through and we're stuck paying CE's wages til summer and getting nothing for him.

Makes sense IMO. Levy runs a tight ship. Too tight probably but I get it.

Jorge Mendes may like Mourinho and want to keep us in the loop if there is money in it but this is business and it's very unlikely we'll pay more than ManU.

Isn't he "only" on 60k pw? If he decides against Inter, then I would have to insist he doesn't play to keep his bonuses down.

As I say, it's just a theory. I'm happy to entertain it cos I want us to sign Bruno and whilst JJ is not poo pooing it then I'm willing to believe.

even if Eriksen is only on 60k pw, thats still £360k and 15m (maybe up front). Not the kind of money to sniff at even if it does seem like small amounts in todays market.
