Seriously why bother. Koch has completely let us down tonight.
Koch?
Seriously why bother. Koch has completely let us down tonight.
We lined up with this side vs Qarabag in the group stages:
Lloris
Trippier
Toby
Verts
Davies
Mason
Dier
Son
Eriksen
Alli
Kane
Compare that with the line-up tonight...
True but they have obviously studied us and their preparation has been spot on.... Things like their back three in the first half which we struggled against, and brutally exposing how narrow we defend. Details, details, details.A three man midfield of Dembele, Dier and Eriksen would have made a much bigger impact than a flimsy 2 man job of Mason and Carroll.
Poch never believed we could win this tie - that's the problem here.
First time we've been beaten by more than one goal this season.
We'd have been better off doing a Harry and ditching the competition from word go.
I don't criticise Poch for playing a second team tonight, but if we don't intend to play a first team against the best teams in the competition then why bother with it at all?
Well this is also the problem. We dont have enough squad depth to deal with great sides, so what does Poch do? He field a first XI vs the weak sides and a significantly weakened 2nd XI vs strong sidesWe lined up with this side vs Qarabag in the group stages:

Something is seriously fucked up with our attitude to a competition if we start a stronger side in the group stages against also-rans from the back of beyond than the knockout stages against elite European opposition. We lined up with this side vs Qarabag in the group stages:

You expect Daniel Levy to sanction ticket refunds or half price tickets. You cray crayor after 20 minutes when it was clear we were getting over run in midfield, the club should refund all fans or half price the tickets for the home leg,if the manager aint taking it serious the ticket prices should reflect it
Toby has been excellent, had a lot to do tonight.
We'd better destroy villa and Bournemouth after this. This week has felt an awful lot like the start of our annual end of season implosion.
would have been double figures if not for himWatching his defending has actually been a pleasure despite the poor overall team performance.
He's an outstanding player
