spurs have been many things over the years but boring isn't one of them. do you enjoy watching tottenham play? does enjoyment when watching tottenham matter to you? i can't say i've enjoyed many games since avb took over. every game is slow, methodical, insipid .. you name it. there's very little unpredictability in our play, the dawson hoof, the lennon cut back and the long range shot, that generally sums up tottenham's arsenal(pun intended).

we may well have a great collection of solid and beastly players but my god is it dull! i think our plan may well be to try and 0-0 and 1-0 our way to the top. knee-jerk blah blah blah, it has been this way for a year now and there are no signs of that improving. our one star in a sea of dishwater is all but gone, i just hope we can replace him with someone who'll bring some much-needed excitement back into the team.

In all honesty I think the team of two seasons ago spoilt us. That team was one of the most entertaining teams that english football as created. I think most your criticisms arn't really valid (for example Daws hoofs a lot less under AVB than under Redknapp) and do not believe that we are boring, but we obviously are not as attractive as we had Modric, VdV and Bale all in the same team.

He has a point, but at least we're winning. I'd wait to the team is gelled though, we'll see far better combinations then. I thought the first 30 minutes against Espanyol was good stuff. Things will improve if Bale comes back and if he doesn't then I could see us bringing an exciting player in. I'm starting to think we need a Pjanic or Eriksen now, Sigurdsson is more of an attacking midfielder than a playmaker. You're forgetting Holtby though, I think if he'd played in Gylfi's position today we'd have created more.

I can see what the OP is saying and at times I wish we would attack with more reckless abandon but I think the way we play at the moment is down to the mental scars left over from AVB's time at Chelsea and his doubting of whether the way his Porto side played would work in the PL. Of course I might be completely wrong and that once our new players properly bed in we will see a more AVB at Porto style of football.

Opening day away at a promoted side was NEVER going to be easy. In fact, I actually thought we played some good stuff at times. Paulinho and Soldado only had their 2nd games for us, while Capoue made his first appearance.

Would you rather we were more entertaining, being open at the back and lose than win 1-0? 3 points > 0 points, and once the team has fully settled after the window the football will pick right back up again.

Don't understand how you can be negative after a win away from home (to add to all the ones we got last season). Just be fucking happy!

Jesus... I remember the last time we went to Selhurst Park on the opening weekend- we lost 3-1 to Wimbledon and had Paulo Tramazzani in our team. Some of you don't know you're born. Grow up FFS

Its always the same people who apply the same negativity to what we do. Be it transfer business, the way we play...generally just any little hole/weakness they find they can't wait to moan about it.

So frigging sick of it. Yeah its a forum, but its always the same fucking people who are doing the complaining.

You can tell that from one game?
Today was harder than some were expecting. I was at the game and this was their big Cup Final, the whole place was buzzing and they were right up for this. An early goal would have been handy but not to be.
All our new signings were good today. Chadli done a good job and could be a threat from the left once he settles in.
Paulinho was very assured and looks like he's going to be a great addition. Soldado scored, nuff said.
Capoue impressed me most when he came on. And Rose (almost new signing) did well, although he was never really tested.
Me personally, I would drop Sigg, move Dembele forward and play Capoue along side Paulinho.
We need someone who can slide a ball through to Soldado, he was in some good positions but never really gor that telling ball.
Never easy playing a newly promoted team away, first game of the season. All we can say is great 3 points and no injuries. Bring on the Swans I say.

Sick of controlling games.

Sick of signing World Class players.

Sick of effective squad rotation and strength in depth.

I want my Spurs back - With Ossie in charge.
