This thread pretty much sums it up, ever since we signed AVB we have been playing boring, slow football. If not for Bale last season I doubt we would have even made it in the top6.
I have no faith in AVB, he wasn't the man for Chelsea and he isn't the man for us, he needs to go.

Being solid defensively by passing the ball around the back 4 or to no avail up front and winning the games we have won by soldado penalties was bound to show eventually.

Quality comes through as do performances, ours have been poor, slow and lacking creativity for a seasons and a half now. AVB to go but I'd want klinsmann and Freund to replace him after World Cup.

I'm willing to give AVB time but the performances are becoming a worry. Souness was spot on when he said this isn't a Tottenham team. I can't remember the last time I saw a Spurs side that was so predictable and lacked pace and creativity game after game. Lennon and Walker were devastating when we played with pace. Lennon left AC Milan defenders for dead on the counter at the San Siro and I can't see that sort of thing happening now. Everything is too over-thought and methodical. Why play with inverted wingers when you've got Soldado up front? Surely it would be better to have wingers who can escape their marker long enough to get a cross into the supposed star striker?

Did Lennon play on the left?

The way we are playing right now has me looking forward less and less to each game. It's not about winning, I can take us not winning as long as we play good but this is just not the Spurs way. It pains me to say it but it's as if I'm falling out of love with the game.

Hopefully things will pick up.

We were never solid at the back. Whenever a team had a go at us we llooked a bit suspect (Cardiff, Hull, Villa, West Ham) its just they didn't have a go enrough. city had a go and exposed weaknesses.
