Both could probably do better than us and it would take a better offer than we could make to prise either of them away I think, particularly Bentley. Excellent players both.

Guillem Balague who knows Villa and Spanish football better than most has suggested more than once that Villa is a player who could sign for Spurs.

David Bentley is an interesting one, I think that he is a very very good player however he is used as the attacking catalyst at Rovers and is often given a free role. He wouldn't be afforded this luxury at Spurs so it's arguable whether he would be as effective for us. So if he come to Spurs he would most likely be used on the right side of midfield and if there is 1 thing that Bentley lacks it is pace and we all know that historically Ramos likes his wide players to be blessed with pace.

Possibly. although Ramos i'm sure would consider himself a better coach than just one that favours a system no matter the situation or squad. Afterall, our second biggest game of the season, Ramos went with a narrow diamond using Huddlestoneon the right at the expense of Lennon... now don't quote me on it but i bet bentley qucker than Huddlestone :)

Can't see Villa coming, but Bentley yes please! Although don't know what to do with Lennon then......but wasn't there some rumours at some point that Ramos didn't concider none of our current midfielders good enough...? If true there might be no Lennon next season...

Bentley is easily one of my most hated people in the world. Great player, but I despise him.

Bit harsh!

He aint ever killed any 1

Neither has Amy Winehouse. But if I could push her off a cliff (I'd require a 10ft long stick, as I'm not getting that close to her), I would.

He's just annoying. He's an ex-Gooner, too. Nothing good can come of that.

Bentley supprisingly is a Spurs fan, and a great winger so I would love him at this club......but were do we put lennon...On the Left!?

Believe it or not but 9.9 times out of 10, the above counts for jack shit with regards to transfers.

To be fair, Bentley didn't play many.

Bad vibes though.

At least he played one...

O'hara was a cast aside by Arsenal (free transfer), similar to how Ricketts was treated. Wenger actually wanted Bentley to stay, but he wanted 1st team games and thus was sold to Blackburn for £1million. I'm pretty sure that once Bale and BAE are fit, O'hara will not be playing many more games for us.

Bentley would be a good squad addition and both him and Sidwell would strengthen our first team squad (when all players are fit.)

So far though this has been for a 1 off game and was used to counter the oppositions line up.

Its only my opinion but I think if Ramos was looking for wide players pace would be very high up on the list of required assets for those players.

As I've said I rate Bentley very highly but i'm not sure he fits in to the way that Ramos would ideally like to play.

For those talking about Villa replacing Berbatov I would have thought this is a no no. Villa is far more similar to Keane than Berbatov and Its hard to imagine Villa partnering Keane. IMHO Villa is a much better player than Keane and a Berbs Villa partnership would be incredible, however if Berbatov were to leave we would need to sign a similar player in terms of stature to Berbs, signing Villa to replace hm would leave us back into the Keane Defoe partnership of 2 small strikers.

Me too and If we want to break into the top 4 I dont think either of these would improve us greatly.

Bentley has the odd good game but clearly his mentality is questionable and over 38 games I reckon he'd go awol too many times.
