Yea, I don't understand why people are all doom and gloom about a Sun article. They're wrong more often than they're right about these things.

Of course you're probably right, but then what could we talk about?

With things going so well we have to whinge about something....it's our given right god damn it.

Incidently it's a relief to not be in a state of panic coming into the transfer window for a change.

COYS ran a thread yesterday about talk of Lennon being injured but was only talk at the time. Now the Sun run a story saying he is injured..... i think i will be sceptical of this one

also add into this the fact that they published this story a week or so ago

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepag...nths-out-for-Berba.html?OTC-RSS&ATTR=Football

and he is still playing

Berbatov has had a knee complaint for a while and they considered surgery but it is improving. Ferguson said this yesterday, so what the sun wrote isn't 100% shit, just about 40% shit.

ok. So would we be happy with a point at Anfield? and do we not have a squad capable of getting a point there even with AL?

Didn't take you long to abscond from work and get nattering!!

Disappointing news if true but we only have five games this month and one is against P'boro.

Giovani, if fit and in the mood, would be perfect - he plays almost the same role for Mexico and looks very comfortakle there, shame we don't use him more often.

Knowing Harry though he'll play Jenas or Bentley as they are the bigger names.

EDIT: Incidentally physioroom.com have Bentley injured til 10th and Azza isn't listed. We almost have everybody fit. NO EXCUSES REDKNAPP!!

You'll be seeing alot more of me here, been too much of a bystander in the past. Plus the fact you are correct in the assumption that it's slow at work...very slow.

I'd take a point but I hope we don't go there trying to get a point. Sitting back and inviting the likes of Torres and Gerrard onto us will end in disaster.

We definitely have the players to get at least a point. But we've had the players to get a point up there before but for some reason we regularly play like a cat's whoopsie at Anfield. Hopefully Harry will get them up for it though.

Lennon can be replaced by a player that can create as much as he did. Not sure liverpool can replace johnson with someone that can be such a threat to us. They dont have back-up players as good as our is sort of what I meant.

we don't have another. in fact there are very few such players anywhere

I don't want to sound pessimistic about Azza's injury but when he got the knock against W.Ham, it did seem to me that it wasn't a minor injury. I saw Lennon immediately turn towards the bench and made a hand jesture meaning that it was all over for him. As it was very late in the game (89 min.) If it was a minor knock, Lennon would have stayed on for the last few minutes.

I hope that I got the wrong impression and that he wiil be fit for the L'pool game as we really miss him when he's out. We all know this is a fact and when he missed a few games with an injury a little while ago we struggled a fair bit.

I hope I will be proved wrong,on this one though.

Doesn't surprise me sadly, he didn't look too good at the end of the game on Monday.

Time for Gio or Bentley to step up.

Either that Modric or Kranjcar on the right, 'tother one on the left. Maybe even JJ at a push.

Thankfully, we have strength in depth, though we will miss Azza.
that is just the worst possible news spurs could have had. As i have said before lennon has been the key to our success and without him we will struggle. And if he and bea are out at the same time we are in big trouble because those are really the only 2 positions that we do not have anyone as good to come in to cover these are the 2 holes in our team cover (3 if you count goal keeper). Like i said worst possible news! I am so pissed off.

First of all, we've heard nothing from the club. When we do, that's when I'll accept the bad news.

However, should Lennon be injured, then on form etc etc Kranjcar has to get into the side while Lennon is out. Yes, our shape might be a bit different to normal as he and Modric both play quite narrow, our midfield will probably resemble a diamond, but that will be the case whoever we put in because Lennon is our only genuine line hugging wideman. Both Kranjcar and Modric, however, are perfectly capable of getting the ball to the touchline, and Bale himself will no doubt stretch teams from left back.

I wouldn't go with Jenas, he's not a winger. He can be used there in emergencies and this is not one.

I wouldn't go with Bentley, he's done nothing whatsoever to justify being used ahead of other players.

I wouldn't go with Gio unless he absolutely dazzles (should he play) against Peterborough, Kranjcar has done more to justify inclusion.

Keane out right is a laughable idea.

At least we got to see our strongest midfield/ attack for one game eh

would like it to be a bit more than 40%...

Didn't know about Berbatov, but still very sceptical about Lennon's injury

Im sure it was his foot that took the impact and he was holding before he went off.
Going to wait for the OS for this one

Nope, not in the slightest. We're a far better team than Liverpool. All Harry has to do is ensure that two of their players are neutralised, and they've got nothing. Palacios needs to show Gerrard who his daddy is, and Bassong needs to hound the fuck out of Torres.

Bassong won't play methinks. It'll be Ledley and he'll need to be a damn site better than he was against Arsenal and West Ham (away).

I trust that if Ledley plays as he did the other day, the way he can play, and I have no reason to believe he won't barring the untoward in the next 8 days of training, he can deal with Torres.

As for stopping Gerrard, that's the hard part. This is the sort of situation that brings the best out of him, he has always responded for Liverpool when the critics are out and the doubters are loudest, when Liverpool seem to be becoming the underdog baasically. Milan in the Champions League final, West Ham in the FA cup final. He's started making those late, surging runs into the area in Liverpools last couple of games, leading to that brilliant headed goal the other day. Palacios and Huddlestone will have their work cut out.

However, there is still no Mascherano right? Aquilani still finding his feet (while being played out of position) and Lucas an OK player at best. Their centre is weak, so I'd like to see us exploit that.

Lucas is dog plop and Palacios will eat his legs and spit them back into his eyes.

Gerrard will need to be hounded out of the game.
