Not sure why everyone is too worried about them

they have shown several times now that when it comes to the crunch time / business end of things they choke

Still a good chance of getting past Porto but shown again last night when the pressure is on they struggle

Not sure I agree; last night was due to inexperience rather than pressure. I still think they'll be competing for the title until the very end; City don't look as stable while KdB comes in and out of fitness, and without Gundogan in MF; and Liverpool have so many games left, with half the team in the physio room.

Losing Rice and Saliba would destroy their season, though.

Arsenal financial results just out for 22/23. Loss of 54m after loss of 45m 21/22.
Exceptional cost of 18m included in this. Refers to writing down players contracts. That will be Ozil, Aubameyang, Pepe and a few others. In some ways it’s probably worth paying to get shot of players. You don’t want them hanging around. Or just take any half decent offer. It is a fact if someone buys Tanguy for 12m we will have made a profit on the books. He is only worth 11m with amortisation.
Just shows how giving out big contracts to players on their way down is to be avoided.
Tanguy, Can you hear me!
Ours will be out in the coming weeks.

wonder what their result was for 21/22? I know PSR looks at the figures slightly different to just p/l

45m loss for 21/22.
As you say , PSR is different as they can offset stuff like women’s team, infrastructure etc.
We are sitting with an 800m debt on the stadium but that doesn’t come into it.
They must be on the brink with PSR because they had to loan David Raya instead of buying him.
They will need to pay about 30m in the summer. Depends how much they have got to play with as to how much they can spend in the summer.
CL money will help, of course.
These figures tend to go up and down with regard to CL money . I think we made about 50m last season even though we were crap. That money will be in our figures for 22/23.
To get in the CL next season will really push us on. 5th place or not, I don’t care as long as we can get in.

They're absolutely fine as far as PSR is concerned, it's UEFA's FFP that is a concern for them.

The new 'squad cost ratio' rules limits the proportion of revenue that can be spent on transfers, playing staff & coaching staff wages, and agent fees. It's being phased in over a 3 year period - last year the limit was 90%, this year is 80%, and from 2024/25 onwards it will be 70%.

Arsenal were at around 91% last year (just above the 90% limit), and were reported to be on UEFA's watch list.

A very rough calculation from the newly released financials suggests they're currently around 84% squad cost ratio (wages £234.8m, player amortisation £139.1m, agent fees £16.7m*, revenue £464.6m) - so looks like they're exceeding the new 80% limit.

*this was last year's figure, as I don't think details have been released yet for this year. I'm assuming it will be at least on par with the previous year considering the amount they spent in the summer transfer window.

Citeh are unbeaten in a silly amount of games and haven't hit top stride yet. Liverpool and Arse will have to match their relentless pace IMO. tbf to them, they have so far. I thought Arse might have had a couple of let down draws by now but nope.

Annoyingly good.

Best coached team in the league, by far the best defensively and create chances for fun. Dominating teams with Jesus, Trossard and Havertz playing as strikers. They were crap under pressure before, let's see if it continues but they have better backups at FB positions now and more depth at DM. Luckily for City Foden and Rodri are in incredible form and they are still not at their peak while KDB is finding his top form. Hopefully Bayern takes few of Arsenal's players this Summer, they will be a problem for the next few years.
