I think of it like when we need West Ham to beat someone. I’m not supporting the West Ham win, just the consequences of the game.

In this case it feels really crappy favouring ourselves doing worse to stop Arsenal winning the league.

Hopefully ourselves and Utd can get a result against Arsenal so they’ll lose the league regardless.
I wonder if their fans are half hoping they lose so city have a harder time winning the league?

I hate Arteta. I thought I hated Klopp, Wenger, Guardiola and Mike Walker. I didn’t know hate, it was only when Mikel came into my life that I realised what real hatred was. His Lego-Head, his uncanny valley type quality when merely moving any muscle. His introduction of ‘Win’ the dog as mascot for the squad. The one and only dog in my life was called Whinny, I was devastated when she died, I called her ‘Whin’ pronounced ’Win’. “He’s stolen her name from me” I thought. “That club always takes everything.” I can’t stand…..Can’t stand, the thought of him winning a title. The fact he’s managing Arsenal compounds this to levels of pain I didn’t know I had as a spurs fan. We are so used to pain that on a scale of 1-10, with 1 being losing to United 5-3 after being 3-0 up and the realisation that the ref was giving a penalty against Sissoko, 55 seconds into a Champions League Final, utterly ruining the game from the outset and ultimately leading to the worst few years for Spurs of the modern area being a ten, I think Arteta winning the league with Arsenal, tops all of this. It’s pain on levels unheard of in the history of the universe. I hate him. Ugh. So if the debate is, to beat Arsenal and lose to City to ensure that Lego head doesn’t win the league then you know exactly where I’m falling.

There is no debate. Fuck losing to anybody.
I hear you about the negative emotion that naturally arises when u see Arteta. I actually have similar feelings of Ndombele!
Saka has also been a prick though I think is an evener bigger one after taking the piss out of Maddisons celebration last time..

Yea I don’t know what it is but never hated a manager, especially an Arsenal manager more than I do Arteta.

Reasons:
•Legohead
•Annoyingly Greasy hair
•Never stays in technical area
•The way he speaks
•How cringe he is
•Constantly pretending Saka is injured 🥱
•Getting his players to dive
•Embarrassing team talks
•Arrogant, but not in a funny way like
Jose, just a real slimey arrogance
•Used to be a nice bloke as a player but has morphed into an absolute bell
•His little beady eyes
•How much he bitches and moans

I hope we not just win but absolutely annihilate legohead’s team of diving cheats so they cry all the way back to Woolwich the bunch of bottling, smug so and so’s.

Lest we forget that this year alone they've leant on the officials with a public statement about referees, then there was the whole 'desgracia' debacle which legohead laughably got away with, later followed by a complaint letter about serial diver Saka not being 'protected' enough.

They're one of the clubs responsible for perpetuating this mess of refereeing - along with Liverpool and now Forest of course.

All of that plus I hate when he talks, his lips barely move and he grits his teeth like he's having a tricky shit and why are they so fucking white...? He's a grade A ****!

I've decided that as of today I will no longer be friends with any of my former friends named 'Michael' or 'Mike' as it is too similar a name to 'Mikel' and therefore too triggering, I've sent them all a letter with a picture of leoghead so they can understand just how traumatic it is their name being so closely associated with this cretin.

I hate everything to do with that club. I hate the manager, majority of the players and the insufferable fans. But I can admit they're one of the best sides this season on the pitch.

I thought the Bayern and Villa defeats would see the wheels come off. They went to Wolves and won then battered Chelsea. Yes Chelsea are crap, but you still have to do the job which they did so increasing the GD significantly.

Credit should be given where it is due.

Oh and Declan Rice is a proper decent bloke for sticking up for his missus after the abuse she has been given recently which led to her coming off social media. F anyone who does that towards partners and family members.
I thought Declan Rice was overpriced, but he's been exceptional this season. He's the one player who I'd actually take from them and doesn't yet seem to have joined in with the screaming, rolling around, play acting stuff the others have almost patented. Him having a long term relationship rather than a glamour model wag comes as no surprise.

Ok, semi serious head on. I 95% agree with you BUT, I do think fans feeling/club vibe can certainly have a subconscious effect on players. They won’t knowingly not try but they can definitely not put in that extra 5% needed to get the win and that can come from fans and stuff.

If our players put in an extra 5 pc that’s still only 45pc. 😂

He's not overpriced at all because mentality is baked in to that price. That's what's missing at Spurs time and again. Roy Keane was on that Neville show saying how often players at top teams look around to see who is in the trenches with you. Often in the context of the current united team. But it's similar with us. Are madisson and son going to dig us out when things are going poorly? Do they even know what that would look like?

Rice does. And he's a major reason Arsenal aren't as flaky as last season, when they were already pretty decent.

Weirdly Lego Head seems to have a thing against Smith Rowe as well.

He was once one of their most promising players, had a long-term injury but has now been fit and on their bench for ages and looking at their recent fixtures only been bought on once in 79 minutes and other times left on bench.

Weird way to treat a player, especially one that came through your youth and has proven is a decent premier league player (fucker will probably come in today now and score a hat trick lol).

It was like how Lego Head excluded Saliba for a while before suddenly deciding he was important.

I mean, if (big if) you win over 38 games it's hard to argue with.

But they have been extremely lucky with injuries and very fortunate in key games against big 6 opponents this season.

City (H) - Heavily deflected goal to win it.
United (H) - Deflected goal to win it, just a few min after United's winner was ruled offside by the smallest of margins.
Spurs (H) - Their two goals came from a freak own goal and a handball penalty.
Liverpool (H) - Alisson and VVD combining for a ridiculous error and Martinelli scores the winner in an empty net.
Chelsea (A)- 2-0 down in the 77 min when the Chelsea keeper passes it to Rice who scores in an empty net.
Adding Spurs (A).

- Another own goal from Spurs to take the lead.

- VDV makes it 1-1 but is offside by a very small margin.

- Kulu gets punished for trying to stay on his feet in the penalty area and instead of 1-1 they double their lead on the counterattack.

- Loses the xG by 1,45 goals and wins the game.

The only consolation is that Arteta will do something in the summer to fuck it up, same as the Raya/Ramsdale situation.
