Brief reminder that they are spending almost £1m every single week for the wages of Aubameyang, Willian and Ozil - who have a combined goals and assists total of six - which is less than Callum Wilson has done on his own

RE: Willian £220k a week, this is the players they made 55 members of staff redundant for...they gave him a 3 year contract until he turns 35, absolutely mental.

Christ that was bad.

Given how much they're paying for Pepe, Aubameyang, Ozil and Willian's wages, they must currently be about the worst return on investment for any team in world football.

Brilliant.

We'll see how they do this season, but it's not looking good.

The way it's going for them, their wonky transfer policies will eventually take their toll.

They need a total rethink of the way they do business, even if that means 2 or 3 seasons in mid table.

- nice run of fixtures
- won First piece of silverware under arteta reign

2 points off us and we have a very tough run. Am I worrying to much

They seem wedded to Arteta similar to how Man U are wedded to Solskjaer with both managers just not good enough. Long may it continue. They won’t be bothering us or the top four if they continue to keep going down this path. Another season outside the top four and it will be another season further away from it. I would say if they don’t quality for it this year or even the europa league then it is anyone’s guess when they will be in it again. It’s wonderful.

That FA Cup win will keep him in the job till at least the end of the season, like you, I don’t see all the fuss about the guy. He’s spent a couple of years putting the cones out for Pep but other than that has zero experience. And imo you won’t gain that much experience being the assistant to the guy who has the best players and best team. He won’t have learned anything about overcoming better teams, or having to sometimes be pragmatic etc.

He seems a nice guy, and probably will make a good coach at some point, but what happened to dropping down a league or two and earning your stripes?

Depends on if he has it listed as a place of work. I’m sat in my office each day with 6 other people and it’s fine as it’s a workplace.
I suspect it is considered a place of work - not sure if youre saying it in jest though haha... we need them to work so we can laugh

There good points, if this is classed as a place of work, that means they are his employees which I suspect they are not...

Not bothered watching the video, as I don't care about them until we play them and only hope we beat them.

Indeed. It's the same with OGS and United. It's like they got to skip a grade in high school because they are related to the principal and now they're are getting found out at University.

It's not just in football, the same could be said about other parts of society. It's like the whole world has mentally bypassed the idea of learning a skill from the ground and up.

OGS at least tried, and failed at Cardiff, and spent some time managing in Norway. He’s massively out of his depth at United, but at least he has some experience, Arteta has none.

In the fast pace game of the prem many players are done at 32-34. Considering he is a workhorse player as well I don’t think he will last much longer, it was an odd decision to say the least.

But but...

This is the crack team they assembled to get the Thomas Partey transfer done with an hour to spare, by actually paying the release fee finally.

What I find funniest is that their defence seems far better when Xhaka plays........yet he is by far their worst defender! I can only assume he has some supernatural organisation and leadership skills to make up for his immense shitness! :D

Arteta has to take the shackles off now, he can't carry on with that setup, it's so negative. The players just look bored and disinterested. The exact same things were happening to us under AVB and eventually they stopped listening to the manager and downed tools. Playing your best striker on the wing is one thing but not even giving Ozil a place in the squad is just mental - I know that probably comes down to politics but I can't imagine what the other players must think of those decisions in particular.

Arteta is definitely tinkering too much with the side. Sometimes 5 at the back, sometimes 3, playing a LB at LCB with a winger playing wing back. It all just seems a bit like what Pep is doing at City, but with worse players. Lacazette is a man shot of any confidence so why continue with him, then you have Aubamayeng playing left wing when he has done very little since being out there.

Arteta needs to go back to basics of football, play a solid back 4 with a solid midfield and have your best players playing in their correct positions. Anyway, it's great to watch & long may it continue.

The worst thing that Arsenal continue to do is give older players massive contracts, they never learn. Willian has got his final pay day sorted & to give Aubamayeng a 3 year deal when he is 31 is baffling. He is the epitome of a striker that will suffer when his pace goes, its his key attribute.

Good grief was that post pertaining to the Partey transfer? They tried to negotiate for him, Atletico told them to fuck off, they paid the fee. I'm not sure in what world that requires a 12-person team.

I think they're taking their inspiration from AFTV; they use five people just to point out that Arsenal are shite, so I'm guessing Arsenal themselves need 12 people to do a transfer.

Yeah but social media FC fans just lap it up so they can banter their rivals as if they've pulled off a coup, they love this kind of shit - genius marketing for them.

And allegedly Arteta preferred Aouar anyway

Vardy is a couple of months shy of 34, and is still as pacey and lethal as ever.

I don't see anything in the way Aubameyang plays to suggest he's going to suddenly become slow in the next 2-3 years.

I don't understand why there is such a willingness in the media to give him the benefit of the doubt. I can only guess it is because of his affiliation with Guardiola. Gary Neville on commentary is the worst, over egging everything about them. It's football fake news. What he says doesn't transcribe to what you see on the tv at the time. Are they much better than under Emery? I don't see it. At least under him they were scoring goals.

I've said it before but their fans don't have the temperament for a period of failure (although winning the FA cup wasn't that obviously) comparative to the success under Wenger because for a large percentage all they have ever know is doing well under the Frenchman. They will soon tire of Arteta and will start wanting him out and the process will begin again like with Emery, who I don't think was doing that bad a job.
