Robbie Lyle would deserve that stick if he'd started AFTV to attack or demean Arsenal. But he didn't. He started it as a fan back when times were better for them. For the most part, AFTV doesn't create toxicity - it merely reflects it. The creators of the mess are the players, managers and owners. AFTV is a mirror, not a projector.

So yeah, Robbie's made a packet off the thing, but his motives weren't evil, and that makes this abuse unpleasant to watch and generally unwarranted.

Just so I'm clear no one threw hands it was just chanting to the point the police gave them an escort away?

If I'm wrong then it's deplorable. If I'm right then I find it hilarious to see people that preach how it gives a voice to the fans and how the negative mainstream media portray them as toxic, are now whining about fans using their voice to show displeasure at them and being portrayed as some rabid, violent mob. Being negative and toxic is only ok if done behind the warm fuzzy comfort of an AFTV branded microphone cover I guess

Ozil just needs dropping completely, which they seem to have done today (unless the pussy called in sick again).

Was a top player but is just pure toxic now.

They really need a good clear out.

Worryingly Arteta does seem promising although it should take a while to really get them right.
If you look at the very best managers though, they all have amazing passion and energy. Jose, pep, Klopp, Poch, simeone.
Arteta has no expression or obvious energy. He might be a good coach but Carlos queroz was a good coach too.

Regardless of what some may think of AFTV, I sure as hell am glad we don't have an equivalent that's for sure. The fact that other clubs fanbases love the channel more than Arsenal fans themselves says it all.

I think thats a very generous take tbh. He may not have created the channel to demean their club, but let’s be honest that’s exactly what it’s become. It’s clear he’s gone out of his way to choose the “characters” that he interviews, and seems to ensure that they are all complete bellends or boderline special needs. It’s like the early rounds of the X factor where they make fun of the freaks and weirdos. It’s not giving a voice to the fans any more than X factor is giving the no hopers from the auditions a shot at the stars.

AFTV isn’t successful because Arsenal fans love it, it’s successful because the fans of every other club find it hilarious to watch the arsenal nutters have a rant and make fools of themselves.

If it was someone doing the same and making Spurs fans look like a bunch of whining muppets we’d be all saying what a wanker he was, and I’m sure plenty of people would be voicing their opinions, and chanting for him to get out of our club too.

He’s now playing the victim and talking about how they were racist, and pissed up and possibly even on drugs. No dude, they are just sick of you exploiting the club they love for your own benefit.

Have to say, Arteta sounds impressive. Saying all the right things. But I reckon his inexperience will come to bite him. He’ll try to make too many drastic changes too soon (think AVB at Chelsea) in a time they need the whole squad on his side. Already hinting he’s going to freeze players out.

I get what you're saying. But if anyone offered me Arteta or Ancelotti i'd completely go with the latter. Has Arteta even managed a club before? He is going into a really toxic environment of a big club (pains me to say it). They could have had a winner with years of experience who is also a real class act or Arteta.

We will see how it develops. But i'm a lot happier they didn't get someone of Ancelotti's pedigree.

The main issue with them is the invincibles. As much as i don't want to say it, they were one of the best teams i have ever seen, power, pace, technique, flair, so solid at the back. They were spoilt and rather than enjoying that time to the max and knowing that it won't last forever, the fans got a huge sense of entitlement. They always refer to it, but in reality it will be so difficult to near impossible to replicate that. I feel their unrealistic expectations will never be met and i actually like it. Just hope if we find some good success over the next few years or decade, we really enjoy the moment.

I mean, a manager has to start somewhere and Arteta managing Arsenal in a time were they’re absymal
Not looking good for Robbie and co - I personally have no sympathy at all as he's monetised the misery of fans

ha ha this hilarious! No more «blud and fam»?
