I reckon that Guendouzi kid is going to be a seriously good player. Very early days, and a lot can go pear-shaped at his age, but potentially world class.

Agree, hate to say it but he looks a massive talent. Especially if he starts adding end product like that assist for 2-2 to his game regularly.

Emery is doing a good job. Starting to get in his own players but still plenty he will want to get rid off. Their defence remains a work in progress though. Both CDs are a Red Card waiting to happen.

Second game I’ve seen Pepe play and in both he’s looked really dangerous when he has the ball at his feet... until he has to cross or shoot. Then he looks like Sissoko.

Which is weird because he had a fuckton of goals and assists last season.

I am really not convinced by Pepe. Good with the ball at his feet but doesn't seem to have explosive pace or an end product....

Probably will settle eventually but you can't quite understand the transfer policy of Arsenal, they were fine for goals last season, but rather than bring in some top quality defenders (Tierney I will reserve judgement on until he has played for them) they decided to go and splash £80m on pepe? Madness and then bring in David Luiz to strengthen the defence:ROFLMAO:

Agree. Despite all the hype about their window it seems to me like they spent a lot of the summer patting themselves on the back for getting such good transfers over the line, and then realised late on that they hadn't actually addressed the main weakness in their squad and panic-bought Luiz as a result, who due to his style doesn't solve their issues at all.

Well they didn't produce that much in France either.
Yeah maybe they weren't the best examples, the point stands that doing it in France doesn't necessarily mean they'll do well in the PL.

Which is what I said when they signed him.

BUT with the output he had last season, he really should be showing some of that in terms of finishing and composure now.

Their starting 11 is going to see a LOT of football this season if they're looking to challenge in both the PL and Europa League again.

That doesn't mean he suddenly shouldn't know how to shoot or pass. Sissoko wouldn't score goals even in France.

You don't lose the ability to do it overnight but if you're playing against better teams/players then you inevitably will have less time to think or act and the opposition defenders will be better at making things difficult for you by forcing you to shoot from poor angles or whatever.
