It isn't just us they need to be wary off. Everton, Wolves, and potentially others could over take them. They could find themselves down at 8th or 9th unless they have a good transfer window. I suspect they need to sell one of Aubameyang or Lacazette to fund any significant (and then be successful) buys or be prepared to drift down the table.
They were talking about that exact thing on talksport this morning.

I think wolves need a load of players in to keep up their high standards of last season. But yeah I agree. All it takes is an injury to one of their strikers and they are in trouble too.

It’s why it’s so important they don’t get CL this year, it’s so key. Without it they’re in serious trouble the following season.

They won't be qualifying for the CL this season they are in a serious rebuilding transition.

That could last 3 to 5 windows

Tierney bid rejected! Ha
Let's see if they are willing to go higher.....I imagine Celtic want 30m, especially as they bid 27m for Saliba

Not sure Tierney is worth 30m but in a world where Harry Maguire costs 80million nothing makes sense anymore.

That annual shitfest called The Emirates Cup/Trophy/tournament must be dying the death.

It was always rigged for the Goons to win it but two weeks tomorrow (28th) it will be just two matches..

The first is a Bayern Munich Women's match followed by a match against Olympique Lyonnais.

.. and that's your lot.

absolutely brilliant! 75% chance of them getting a trophy, 25% chance they will get both trophies.

well done! great way to stock the trophy cabinet!

It's sustainable as long as the TV deals remain at the current level, or increase. Simple as.

Very true. Although thankfully I think the end is in sight for the current system. If Sky/BT etc. keep paying higher and higher amounts for the rights, the cost of the subscriptions will have to go up to compensate for it, and I think many subscribers are already almost at breaking point - loads of people over the past 2 or 3 years have said enough is enough and got rid of Sky Sports etc. because it's increasingly just not value for money. Obviously there comes a point then where advertisers won't be willing to pay as much if hardly anyone has a Sky/BT subscription and the whole system will collapse. Eventually I think (or rather hope) we'll get to a stage where it's more financially viable to have the games on free-to-air TV and all the extra viewers will mean the extra advertising money makes more sense than selling exclusive rights to Sky etc. if that makes sense. Fingers crossed anyway.

Don't think that's happen any time soon, the money is coming in from overseas from various TV companies and it's increasing from a rapid pace so even if people turn off in this country from SKY and BT there is still a load of money being coughed up by foreign fans.

Yes it is a great point that sporting TV rights are one of few areas where competition is so plainly bad news for the consumer. Competition drives up the price and the consumers have to foot the bill.

I'll be a little sad when (not if) the PL decides it can make more money from it's own subscribers rather than selling to Sky et al., it will hurt my employers who have had the rights in Norway for a decade now and personally working on the PL shows is the most fun thing I do, but it will go that way eventually. I think the 3pm blackout is the only thing stopping the PL from making the move now.

Think it will burst when 5g comes in. At the moment sky and bt make a loss on their sports packages. They make up for it through broadband sales. Soon 5g will mean no need for broadband for superfast internet speed. Not just for this country.
Also prices are so high now that actual spending by the premier league is falling. Players are also running contracts down.
But it is in none of the clubs interest for prices to fall. If you have a squad of 25 player worth on average £20m each and suddenly their value drops to £15m each. You have lost a lot of value in your assets.

I think we'll see a big shift in player's contract demands quite soon. I don't think long contracts and transfer fees will disappear completely but I think a lot more high profile players will start deliberately running their contracts down and move from club to club on shorter deals, pocketing massive signing on fees every time they move of course.

If Tierney is going that cheap I wonder if spurs would consider nipping in with a bid?

He’s pretty decent.
