Sadly think they'll be really strong next season. Their front line is a bit like ours in the early Poch days - full of young players that will only improve. Rice is also a big upgrade on Xhaka, while Timber gives them depth at the back.

My main hope is that the whole 'Havertz as an 8' experiment fails and creates an imbalance in their midfield, leaving them a bit weaker defensively. Or that the pressure of CL football means they drop a few more cheap points in the league.

Would bet on them finishing top 2 again, though, with Liverpool in 3rd. Don't think we'll see a big drop-off unfortunately and, if anything, I'd expect City to drop off a bit as Gundogan and Mahrez are such reliable players for them that will be hard to replace. Walker too, potentially.

It will be interesting to see how Havertz does in that role given the many other attacking players they have in the team.

Also there’s still been no word on Partey being sold, although this seems to be expected?

Think the Saudis are interested but I heard somewhere that he'd prefer to stay.

I'd expect them to buy a replacement if he's sold otherwise they're leaving themselves thin at CDM. Unless White/Timber stepped into midfield?

We should probably just make another thread called FUCK THE ARSENAL where people can just shit on them.

No-one on here likes Arsenal but it's a bit annoying that every time you try to say anything objective about them in a football sense someone says yOuR nOt pWoPa sPuRs and then a boring argument starts.
The Arsenal? 🤢

This is the thread to shit on Arsenal. They're weird, they're ****s, they played a player for the majority of last season knowing full well what's been going on elsewhere surrounding him. They're an horrendous football club. Disgusting fans. Disgusting players. Good on you for trying to be objective about their football, but after they did that they can run and jump. Absolute abomination.

"The Arsenal" was one of their names, changed by Henry Norris when they slithered up to North London

I mean yeah they're a bunch of gimps, but sometimes I just want to chat football and put aside the rivalry without having to quality every post with a disclaimer about what a disgrace they are.

I guess I'll reserve this thread for shitting on Arsenal then and take the football chat elsewhere.

am jealous they've managed to attract [and owners backed] a player of Rice's quality.

Rather than sit on their 2nd place finish they're trying to improve. can't say anything negative about that.

I hope it falls apart a bit, but Rice will give them a solid spine. it's annoying.

But, eyes on us, we control our own destiny, not arsenal.

Trust me you can't have a genuine discussion about our rivals on here without being told you're twerking for Arsenal. I went through the same thing at the start of last season.

They're backing their manager with serious investment. Will be interesting to see how the three new lads do in their system. Havertz should never have been used as a false 9 at Chelsea. Rice, despite the fee, is a solid signing and will improve their midfield. Timber lots of potential, remains to be seen how he will fare in the Prem though. Does strengthen their RB options at the very least.

City are still way and above favourites for the league, but if these three settle they'll be up there. Of course they have the added complication of CL fixtures to focus on, so interesting year ahead.

Honestly I think if we take our biased goggles off they’re clear 2nd favourites, they’ve strengthened really well again, Kiwor is a very very good defender upgrade on holding, Havertz and Rice are both top class and they’re looking at cancelo. CL games might slow them down a bit and you’re right Liverpool, man.u and others will be stronger and yes arsenal fans are being a bit arrogant but I also don’t think city can keep it up, no team does for 3,4,5 seasons in a row and so if they do dip arsenal will want to take the chance to make up for last season.

Going to be an interesting season as if we get 2 new CB’s we will be pretty strong, (not title challenging strong yet ofc it’ll take time) but I’m just saying the league will be super competitive so I don’t think arsenal and city will be miles ahead of anyone next season.
When did Kiwior become a very very good defender? He played 400 minutes for them last year and he's average at best.

Nah its not that, just that some posters overhype them.

Anyway Fuck Arsenal
