Or go to Napoli for reduced fee like Kvaratskhelia did and end up being a €100 mil player in a few years.
TBF Kvara's form dropped a bit this season, 5G4A in 19 Serie A matches and 1A only in 6 CL matches. Last season he got 14G17A in 43 Serie A and CL matches. He is just 22 though so still plenty room of improvement

That’s more to do with how much of a mess Napoli are at the moment tbh. They are already on to their second manager this season after the absolutely shocking appointment of Garcia. Mazzarri isn’t doing much better tbf having lost 7 of his first 14 games he’s been in charge. They are currently sitting in 9th and might not even get into the Conference League which would be complete and utter failure for them.

Watching Kvara this season you can see he’s the same player but has clearly been effected by the direction of the club. loosing their DoF Giuntoli to Juve has been a massive blow and what you are seeing now is the repositions of that imo. They are very clearly lacking direction.

Any news on his Brentford switch?

Really liked the look of this kid and gutted for him that his medical issues are out there in the public domain

Think we left the Nusa transfer long before the media realised. They were keen to perpetuate the clicks but once the price started going north of €30m we were out. Even at €22m with the assumption he was fully fit which WLB indicated was our level it was still a massive gamble as most of our youth recruitment has been in the €5-15m area. I would even hazard a guess that we didn't actually make an offer. Fair play to our recruitment team who have been calculated and excellent in the last 2 windows.

Pretty sure Ally Gold said the price wasn't a problem for us and that the kid chose Brentford over us because it was felt Spurs (or another club of our size) might be too big a leap and stunt his development.

I'm not saying who is right and who is wrong btw but obviously they are two very different scenarios - i'd bet on there being more twists in this story as there are plenty of different scenarios that could happen before the summer (e.g he proves fitness, he doesn't prove fitness, Brentford go down, other clubs come in for him etc etc).

There's too much that could happen in six months for it to be worth speculating about really, but the most important thing is that he gets some time to recover from whatever medical problems he has. The back issues kept him out for a while this autumn but the knee thing was a new discovery from what I've read in Norwegian media.

It would be a terrible shame if he was pushed too far too young and broke down. That's what Brugge and any club that signs him in the summer will have to make sure they avoid.

Well, that's not a good look for someone. One or the other is talking bullshit.
If i was being cynical i'd say it was Brugge maybe fudging the results so as not to dissuade teams come summer or for his value to drop too much. But then again it could have been Brentford trying to get a better deal. Ether way something feels a little off.

Yeah. Begs the question, why would Club Brugge still be in negotiations with a club that tried to make them look stupid if this actually the case?

Saw Romano say that Brighton are signing Osman earlier too.

That was a swift move, kind of surprised they didn't wrap it up during the window. I guess thats one to strike off our list.
