I’d even go one step further and say if we sign those two, I can see us winning a major trophy (Premier League/European Cup) in the next 3-5 years.

We will have one of the best young teams in the world with all of them coming into their prime.

The only thing missing will be a clinical striker (Son replacement), but hopefully he’s still got a few miles left in the tank.
Hopefully in time it will be one of Veliz, Scarlett or Lankshear. I'm sure Veliz was scouted as the most promising centre forward we could get.

It’s always going to be like this with the top tier of young talent we’re going for

Signing 17 year old Bale, 22 year old Modric, 21 year old Gascoigne, 20 year old Anderton we’re all epic battles.

It’s how it should be.

loads happen , loads fail/succeed

We had sancho close @ 17, the lad from Ajax who just signed for Sevilla, The barca lad moriba? who signed for leipzeg and recently went on loan again.

I think going for potential is always the better option and I hope we get his lad but as a leveller to remember there will always be others.

We already have Donley, Moore, Hall, Devine, Phillips, Dorrington, Lankshear, Scarlett and Ajayi in the youth who are of a similar age to Nusa.

25m for one of top 3 18 year old LW prospects in world football?

Absolutely fine to me.
No I agree, I’d like us to pay it too. I’m just saying it seems too far fetched ( I posted this before I’d seen the itk etc) so obvs I’m behind the curve.

We've literally just beaten Bayern for a signing despite offering more money so i'm not nervous at all about other clubs keen - in fact, it's more reassuring that this guy is the real deal in so far as he's a coveted signature.

What will be, will be but we are currently a very attractive proposition for any prospective prodigious talent.
This is true, I’m just sceptical I guess.

I guess the positive thing is, spurs/levy have always tended to prefer the “potential” signings.

plus hopefully as trix has previously alluded to, the press/media are typically a few days behind so if it's breaking now about prices, etc we're (fingers crossed) even further down the line as per wlb. could be close. you're spot on, these 'potential' signings are also the ones i get more excited about.

It's just so great that we are looking at these deals and in this case we couldn't really be doing more it seems.

If the player has spoken to Ange, then if he is a good fit he is likely already on board. If he isn't convinced then perhaps he isn't a good fit. But we are well positioned with FFP and we are looking at taking advantage in the right way. Hugely encouraging whatever happens here

£25m is a bargain considering the prices we've paid on other players. If we can do £20m + 5 in add-ons or something similar then that's great business.

What I love about January buy and loan back is that the eventual move over can be really well planned to make sure they settle well. They also get a full preseason. Particularly important for young players.

Fucking hell. Is this happening/likely to happen then?! This and potentially replacing PEH would make probably the best January window that I could imagine!

Don’t panic all and everyone. Still few things to agree, but his family and him keen on us above all. And as of today that remains the situation.

The Ange effect is insane.
I remember in the summer questioning whether he’d be a draw for the right quality of players. Was massively wrong, it seems he needs a chat with every player we really want to turn them fully COYS and wanting to play for him. Brilliant stuff.

Agree, had the same feelings as you at the time. So glad those feelings were misguided. Its actually incredible what is happening at the club right now. Not sure how it happened but long may it continue.

Let's try and keep calm and not turn this situation into another embarassment like the Dragusin thread.

See if you can do it.
TBH the most encouraging part about this is that we are actually willing to spend €30 mil on a 18 year old. The fact this is how we are trying to operate now is a massive step more so then buying any one player. Says a lot about those behind the scenes having a shared vision for the future of the club, something we haven't had in years.
