I'm not panicking just yet, but it is a little discouraging that we huff and puff every game but we haven't won by a 3 goal margin since Inter in the Europa league

I don't comment on Spurs games until I have watched them again, especially when it is such a poor result. It is very easy to get lost in a result rather than the actual performance.

I look at any Spurs game with the same glasses; win, lose or draw.

The worrying thing for me is that our performance on Sunday is not too dissimilar to the majority of our performances so far this season.

If Paulinho had his shooting boots on we could have been in 2-0 up at the break and people would have been sat their happily.

But he didn't.

We continued to defend like we have all season, but on Sunday we were actually punished.

Now this isn't a knee-jerk reaction, we aren't terrible and our season isn't over. But as long as continue to play the AVB way, teams will always have a chance against us.

We dominated at Arsenal but Wenger knew we would give them a goal and simply focused on ensuring we didn't score.

West Ham played without a striker knowing fine well they would still get chances against us (mostly from set pieces) and they showed again that defending against us and our system isn't particularly difficult.

We make it far too easy for teams visiting the Lane to defend against us. It was the same last season and to my concern I do not see that changing.

The way we play seems to work away from home, but 4-5-1 at home simply isn't progressive enough. It was the same under Harry, let's not forget that - but it has to change at some point.

It has to, or we will continue to drop silly points at home until the end of time and ultimately fail in meeting our objective's.

Every respective forum apart from (unbelievably) Redcafe (who's fans you might think have the biggest entitlement syndrome - but are very realistic in fact) went berserk with kneejerk reactions after their respective losses to Villa (opening day and season over), Southampton (WTF was Rodgers doing playing 4 CB's across the line) and I would bet Everton away for Chelsea.
It's all part of what keeps an online forum ticking over. It's obviously a natural reaction as a fan.

I definitely have some major concerns but I really do feel as though they are born out of the overhaul our squad has had over the summer. Last season was great but if we're honest, it was only great because of one man and his truly magnificent performances. The lack of a top quality finisher, coupled with Bale, was all that stopped us from qualifying for the CL. But without Bale I have to believe that we would have been way off the pace.

That said, based on the business we've done this summer, I doubt it could/would have been any better had we been in the CL this season as a carrot to players coming. I think we had our targets regardless of our finish last season and we got pretty much all of them, bar Benteke and Willian, whom we replaced with CL experienced players in Eriksen and Soldado.

I think our start has been a strange one. 13 points after 7 games is good. It hasn't been brilliant to watch at times but I actually believe we've over achieved in some ways simply because our team chemistry is still not quite there IMO and I don't expect it to be just yet.

For that reason I can be angry and upset that we lost so badly on Sunday but I can't allow myself to start thinking our season is now on the rocks and at risk of crashing into oblivion - and this is what I've seen a lot of since the West Ham game.

I always stress the need for perspective in these situations and I honestly believe that we will be charging to the finish line like a fuckin freight train come the 2nd half of the season. How the first half of the season will go though.....I have no idea.
