Anyone going to this on Wednesday evening?

Not sure if there are many locals to Aldershot here, but its the next town up for me, so I will pop along to watch.

Think I'll take my eldest boy along for his first game, see how he fairs there, before I arrange his first trip to WHL!!

He is only recently 3, so doesn't quite have the patience to watch something for 90 mins!

See you there if you are local enough to go!

I am very local to Aldershot (Farnham), however I'm on holiday then so I can't make it.

I often go to the Rec (now known as the EBB Stadium), Shanksy tell me how it goes and tell me how loudly the East Bank sing.

Will do mate.

I've been to watch a game there once, which was a spurs res v chelsea res, as chelsea reserves used to use that ground for their home games.

I've played there more than I've watched!

Probably go being as I live there.
Only been the EBB twice.
Once to watch us play Chelsea reserves
which ended 0-0 and last seasons leauge game
against Brentford which was a 1-1 draw.
It's a spurs XI which generally means
reserve and kids though so I doubt
they'll be many top names. They didn't
play any for a friendly here some years ago.

Same as Peter, well Farnborough to be precise, but worth taking the nipper.

Seany, good spot mate, to be honest, I was still half asleep at 6.30 this morning!!!

I signed as a schoolboy player on that pitch in 1977. Got a fair few youth games and one reserve game.

Sweet PT!

Although I was only born that year!

My friends dad was chairman of them for a while, although somewhat shoddy if the rumours are true!

Kyle Naughton is set to make his first appearance in our colours for the Spurs XI in a friendly at Aldershot Town tonight (kick-off, 7.45pm).

The young defender, signed today from Sheffield United, is joined in the squad by a mixture of first team, development squad, and Academy players.

Goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes makes his return following an extended break due to his involvement in Brazil's successful Confederations Cup campaign in June.Alan Hutton and Adel Taarabt are also in the squad, along with Danny Rose and Jake Livermore, who have both been involved with the first team this summer.

Coach Clive Allen believes that Aldershot will prove a stern test for his side, providing the youngsters with a chance to impress the management staff, whilst also giving the lads the opportunity to prove their match fitness.

"Pre-season is always a very important time for the young players in particular, and we have the opportunity to give one or two of the youngsters a chance with a few of the senior players," said Clive.

"No matter how much training you do,you need to have match fitness so it's very important for them to work in the time they play."

Clive has also been impressed with League Two Aldershot's progression in recent years and thinks they could be a different proposition from last summer, when a Spurs XI side ran out 3-1 winners at the Recreation Ground.

"It was a very good performance in last year's win but Aldershot had only just come into the Football League at that time. They obviously had a whole season in League Two last term and they did well.

"I know Gary Waddock, the manager, very well and he was very happy with the way their season went, so I think they'll be a lot stronger and they'll be difficult opposition for us again tonight, but it is exactly what we want in our pre-season preparations."

Tonight's squad in full:
Gomes, Alnwick, Hutton, Naughton, Smith, Cox, Archibald-Henville, C Butcher, Blackwood, Livermore, Rose, Carroll, Taarabt, Bostock, Parrett, M'Poku, Obika

Great to see Heurelho back. It's a good squad that, should be a good game to watch.

Better team than I thought.
I'll be going along.
I remember we played them years ago
and I really wanted to see Blondel, who
was the next big thing we assumed then.
He never played, I never went, sad story.

2.46: GOAL - ALDERSHOT. Straker did well down the left, low cross turned in by Hylton from eight yards.
Aldershot 1, Spurs XI 0

13.43: CHANCE - ALDERSHOT. Decent move down the right ended with Halls crossing low and Grant skying his effort from six yards.

tbf this is a really weak team for us, barring gomes and hutton

it's a bit similar to Spurs U18s last season, it's look like :

Gomes
Hutton - Butcher - Archibald-Henville - Adam Smith
Parrett - Livermore - Bostock - Rose
Taarabt - Obika

Subs: Alnwick, Cox, Naughton, Blackwood, Carroll, Mpoku.

Gomes for Jansson
Hutton for Smith, who took Berchiche position on left back ( looks like he is off ? ) or Townsend ( who is on loan )
while Taraabt to take Mason place ( who is on loan as well )

it is even more experienced side with Gomes, Hutton & Taraabt, it is disappointing start for our lads to lose against a club playing in the 4th tier in England.
