For God's sake please don't youtube it afterwards:eek:mg:

Thought Hutton looked nervous first fifteen minutes, not sure who he should pass to, but he got over that and just grew and grew and was terrific by the end. Great buy.

As far as UEFA Cup goes, I'm pretty sure Hutton can't play for us. Think the rule is that you can't be at two clubs in the same UEFA competition, regardless of whether you've actually played in it or not. So had Rangers stayed in the CL, he could have played for us in UEFA. They didn't, so he can't.

That was my understanding of the Rocha case, anyway.

I'll happily be put right, though, if anyone knows better. Tis certainly a confusing area.

I must've gone to a different game to everyone here.

Hutton started off very, very nervously, which of course is understandable. He got done twice and made a couple of weak clearances and hardly got forward in the first half.

He was much better in the second half and did an immense double tackle when they were threatening. Did ok going forward too.

He wasn't awesome. He did an awesome double tackle and looked committed but it was an ok debut altogether, if you take the whole match into account. 6 or 7 out of ten.

Looks a good buy though and you can see he has got lots of promise. Once he settles down, i think he'll be excellent for us.

And i agree, Chimbonda probably had his best game for us today. And Woody was immense too.

well said my friend. this is what i have been saying, he was ok and not 'great'. i feel he made some errors that could of been punished on another day

Hutton is cup tied, as Rangers are now in the Uefa Cup, regardless of wether he played for them in the uefa Cup or not, he has played in the CL so it counts.

If Rangers had finished 4th in the group in the CL, Hutton wouldn't be cup tied.

the problem with rocha was because he had actually played in the uefa cup, thats why he couldnt play for spurs in it.

No, he hadn't. Benfica were in the same situation last year that Rangers are this.

I was happy with this signing because i know him he is one of the best right backs in Europe, we took the advantage this transfer window by imporve the team in this area.

for sure it isn't easy to pay £9m for right back, but at this time of progress, we just need to think about spending our money on quality players in most needed positions in the team.

No space for him in your sig lineup?

I'm being unfair, I like some aspects of Chimbonda's game but he frustrates me with his constant switching off & poor positional play, his attacking qualities also pale in comparison with the lightning-quick, Wayne-Bridge-esq Hutton.

Admittedly people's apparent blind praise for Shimbomba has made me dislike him a bit more and that just isn't hs fault, damnit.

It's not hard to be better than Shimbomba

Can we stop the Chimbo baiting, please?

The guy has clearly p*ssed Ramos and Poyet off, and they spent the entire window trying to get a replacement. To everyone's amazement, Levy then failed to ship him out to the Barcodes, Villa or Sevilla. So, Ramos then picks Hutton at RB and asks Chimbo to play out of position, at LB, against Ronaldo. And Chimbo was excllent, both in performance and attitude. He really put his body on the line, and played arguably his best match of the season. So, he really didn't deserve that comment.

He's our player for the rest of the season, and if Hutton is cup-tied, he's our RB for the UEFA Cup. So, as long as he gives 100%, let's stop the knocking.
