Espen Baardsen. Came in for Walker's injuries and was excellent.

Atouba. Couldn't work out if he was a professional or on a wind up. One week turd, next week he would be doing these bizarre Brazilian feints, nutmegs and dummies. Scored a worldie at St James Park too

Any of the lads that came in during the Santin/Jol era really. Whole new team, whole new mindset, it's them who put us where we are today. We went from a laughing stock to people taking notice.

Pamarot, Ziegler, Edman, Mendes, Naybet, Kanoute etc
Naybet, he's definitely high up that list as well, came in and just breezed the PL. Very underrated player, the only regret is we picked him up so late in his career. Quality CB

Keano's goal, one of my favorites - that ball over, taking it on the outside of his boot... good times, great to hear the lads talk about it.

edit - welp, today I learned that Spurs block sharing of their youtube vids... :D should've expected it really.

tbf, the main reason I wanted to watch it was for this moment -

Pierre Emile Hojberg.

Unpopular with many fans who want a shiny new midfielder who is better / an upgrade.

Has given so much on pitch with a limited ability. If someone put a highlights clip of his together, he would show he has had some incredible goals and assists.

Korsten was just finding his feet scored a; double to beat Utd and then had to retire with hip problems.
We picked him up from Leeds dirt cheap and had a cracking end of the season never to return 😞

I don't think Anderton gets enough credit wider than the Tottenham fan base.

I always thought he played well for England but I seem to remember him getting a lot flack at the time. Scored 7 goals in 30 appearances including that worldie against Sweden.

The sicknote thing is a thing but he still played 300 games for us in 12 years.

In his time, very highly rated. An excellent skillful attacking fullback when cloggers were still in vogue.

What a dick he became later, but class as a player.
He was. But in sides with such good players he was a bit overshadowed. Even his fellow fullback was better known.

I did think of naming Peter Baker instead but he really wasn’t unsung.

It’s a long time ago and memories can deceive, but I always thought of Kinnear and Knowles as an equal partnership, and equally celebrated at the the time, until that song came along anyway!

Yes, I’d give Cyril the edge, but Soppy Joe was a brilliant and popular fullback .

Paul Walsh
Gudni Bergsson
Steve Carr
Michael Brown
Pascal Chimbonda
Ryan Mason
Ben Davies
If memory serves Carr was highly rated by many, apparently Man Utd came in for him at one point, and then he went to Newcastle which was weird as he was probably our best player for a time.

Michael Brown annoyed me, he'd scored 20+ goals as an attacking midfielder in the championship before we signed him and when he came to us he just went around kicking people, it's like his footballing talent disappeared when he signed for us and turned into David Batty.

Not seen him mentioned yet but Micky Hazard was a good player. Lacked pace but had a great eye for a pass and loves the club. Story goes that he was playing for Chelsea and Micky was taking a throw in. Someone shouted out 'Why don't you fuck off back to Tottenham' and he turned round and said 'I'd crawl back there over broken glass to get away from this shit hole'.
