Thank god it wasn't 2 to Milan! I've booked upto see the 2nd leg and that would have been curtains if they scored again. Still all to play for however I'm wary of Leao for them seemed to strike fear into our defenders when he attacked and crossed. That Giroud is a wily one as well at 36 he still seems a menace be it only fleetingly that ball to Leao showed that.

Good to see Sarr/Skipp in middle played above their years with intelligence and maturity. Losing Dier is bad and only hope Sanchez finds boots that avoid him sliding everywhere after that cameo in that dreadful Leicester result.

It was a sound performance just nothing special which is a worry with two London derbies looming. we will need to be special I feel to get something from them COYS!!

We controlled the game, Our midfield were very good. Our front 3 have had better games, and we found it hard to create . But we should have scored at least one - there were 2 headers that should have gone in, and son should have scored. So we were not totally shit, and yes we were the better team and we really should have at least got a draw.

by this logic, they should have definitely scored at least two more

We’ll win the second game if we attack and try and dominate from the start. But we won’t. We’ll sit back like usual.

I feel he still could. Son used to play on the shoulder of the defender and could turn and run at goal, whereas nowadays he's having to turn into 3-4 players because we're/he's so deep.

Breaking from deep with such predictable tactics in literally every single game makes it easy for the opponent to know exactly where Son, Kane and Kulu will look to receive the ball and which space they'll be running into. It's why without a clever player to unlock the opponents we'll continue to see Kane and Son be tackled as soon as they get the ball. Often by 2-4 players each time. It's that predictable.
So so spot on which is why I’ve been defending him this season because the tactics just don’t suit him

Uninspiring, laboured and lacking in any real direction. I know we have some injuries, but after this performance against the worst team you're ever likely to face in this stage of the Champions League, how can anyone still defend the belief that this chancer is a top class manager. I know it's a two legged tie, but that was pure shite. If we manage to get through this round we're getting embarrassed in the last 16 against a decent team.
We’re already in the last 16, they are the current Italian champions, we had none of our first choice midfielders, you win the tie over two legs, you can lose it in one game

Even if Conte gets the two centre backs of his choice on the Summer, and Benatacour returns for pre-season, I simply can't see us playing any better.
If we can get Porro up to speed and get Udogie a good pre season it will look a lot better.

As much as Emerson has improved and he still doesn't create enough from that position.

With Porro and Udogie we should see a lot more take ons and cut back/crosses.

I still think we are missing someone in behind Kane who would find the runs of the wing backs, winged forwards and striker

Right wing forward isn't his best position. But of course Son is seemingly guaranteed the left even when injured.

Or drop back Kane into a 10 role and play Richi central as a 9.
This was frustrating when richarlison came on. Kane was being marked so tightly by kjaer that he had little impact.
moving richarlison up top would occupy kjaer more - even pushing him up to occupy the LCB would have in turn made Theo Hernandez drop back to cover more.
and it would have freed up Kane to roam more, with kjaer less likely to want to get pulled out of position.

Nah the players would do the job for him as they have always done in his previous teams.
Sorry I think you are in denial about him - he is making zero impact - the players are getting worse - it doesn’t matter their standard to start with - the team he has been given for whatever the reasons isn’t improving - that’s down to conte - he is off in a couple of months and it’s showing in the performances

It’s actually embarrassing that we’re in this tournament, we are so far off being competitive it’s a joke . If I was a neutral I would have turned that off . All is saw was a laboured , ponderous performance straight out of the AVB / Jose playbook . I’ve never seen a team so negative , not one attacker tonight played on the half turn , we just played back to goal , either lost possession or won a foul , no urgency. No creativity, we could have played till next week and not scored . I genuinely can’t wait for the season to end , the only hope now is the scum don’t win the league cos we are going nowhere fast under Conte

This game is the reason why the away goal rule was invented. Both teams were relatively happy with the result and a truly bad match happened because of it.

A Daniel Levy masterclass tonight...... 0 ideas, 0 creativity, a clueless defence, and millions of Euros.
And a long list of expensive purchases all out on loan, fucking shite, or sold for fuck all. Tanguy Dembele, Lo Celso, Gil, Reguilon, Sanchez, Foyth, Doch etc etc etc. Levy has no fucking clue. None.
