So one's turned us down because he wants to play for someone else, Woodgate because in all likelyhood wants to stay at home, where he comes from and Fred, well, were we actually ever in for him?

So, in answer to the thread starters question, 'What is going on?' I'd say don't read anything into it, it isn't as if we're being turned down for any sinister reason.

Tbh Spurs had no more rejections than most clubs face, its just unfortunate the media likes to humiliate Spurs by putting all their rejections in the public domain.

maybe they are getting told if they come, they have to fight for a place, work hard and deal with competition.
because usually when you sign a player they want to be assured they are gonna be involved every week

More likely we turned Woodgate down just as much as the other way round, he wanted to stay at home and we said no to his wages so It was obviously mutual.

Now IF that's the scenario, then who turned who down? I think that if we paid what Newcastle offered, he'd be a Spurs player. Because we refused, that means WE turned HIM down.

Ramos has already said he's turned down up to 8 players this window. That makes it 9 imo.

and i say again, remember a few months ago, stories being leaked to the press from inside the Lane? Remember the club saying they were actively seeing to dealing with that, including feeding particular false stories to find out where that leak was. That, along with mis-interpreted information, people mistaking gossip for ITK and the standard rumour mill that goes around every club after a bit of a change around upstairs and we have a hell of a lot of flotsam to sort through to find the real stories.

We dont really know that do we.. Ramos has also rejected the chance the sign 6-8 players so maybe some of them are the mentioned ones..
IMO none of them is really someone who is worth the amounts that were talked about..
Maybe an injury free Woodgate would but i guess his wage demands is ludicrious!
