Never mind. I trust the manager and the board will find us someone. But we had no chance for Woodgate if Newcastle were in for him.

We have to stop being so paranoid, there's many reasons a player may turn a club down: maybe he's from the north, maybe he likes living in spain, and yes maybe he'll get more money. The latter just shows the player up for lack of ambition (if thats why he chose a particular club), because newcastle for example, will never win a trophy before us.

and i'm sure there are numerous other reasons a player may choose one team over another.

Fiver says Woodgate is injured within five games, anyone?

Well i wouldn't take the bet. It really annoys me when we are in for injury prone players and the fact that some fans actually want them. He is a good player but lets dace it he will be out more then he will play.

It annoys me more when teams buy loads of injury prone players and then moan when they get injured (Curbishley, I'm looking at you). What were you expecting!? Use your bloody head.

It's like Redknapp signing loads of Africans then moaning about the ACN. He knows about the competition, you can't use that as an excuse.

I think he would have been a good signing, but any player that signs up for the 'Keegan re-revolution' has no ambition at all.. it'll all end in tears, everyone knows it.

''As The Times revealed yesterday, Middlesbrough gave permission for Tottenham to open negotiations with the centre half on Thursday evening but after a round of talks with Struan Marshall, the player’s representative, Woodgate remained on Teesside. He earns about £70,000 a week, including incentives, which is outside Tottenham’s wage structure.''

im quite sure spurs would pay those wages to the right players, but obviously not to a gamble like woodgate.

quite sure he also realised , even when fit, he wouldnt always be selected (especially as ''fit'' for woodgate is basically meaning ''still recovering from last niggle/injury'')

probably offered him a decent wage with big performance bonuses but this was probably laughed at by the greedy woodgate+agent combo.

goodluck to him, he's never had much.

Be a bit like signing Dyer. Im glad about this. Quality player when he's playing but unless his contract is pay per play, than it just isn't good business. If he was a racehorse he'd have been shot already

bbc909 just mentioned in the commentary that keegan said after the arsenal game that woodgate probably wasnt going there and that spurs were fav again.

lets hope he comes :) on a reasonable contract ay!

if woodgate comes to us for less wages than Toon have offered - that's a good sign

We've already got our own version of Woodgate....Tony Gardner, (and he's cheaper).

Now, let`s see. I guess Ramos knows who he wants and gets. King is our first choice and i think Kaboul is the most promising to be the second centerback.

i thought kaboul was a ball spraying, holding midfielder ala fernando hierro??

you must be confused with huddlestone, he is the most promising 2nd CB.. :hump:
