Inspired by a comment in another thread, simple enough question to be followed, I hope, by some interesting debate on what is most important to the success of a football club. Namely Spurs.

10 million quid. We have it (probably). What would, in your opinion, be the best way to spend it?

Obviously worth considering that if you spend the money on one of the above options, you therefore cannot spend it on the others. Basic accounting, innit? Not suggesting this is our total transfer fund, obviously, but just speculating about a figure widely touted as what we would have received from the FA or have to pay to remove our management team. Anyway, look, it's just a bit of fun. Lighten up, for fuck's sake. Jeez, some people.

Went for wages - although it would need to be 10 mil each year.

I went for the spend it on transfer one even though it is worded I discourage by putting "for his choice" to try and put people off!

Under Harry's tenure we have signed Parker, Sandro and VDV for under £10m each im more than happy to give him the money. I imagine popular opinion is otherwise.

Unsurprisingly the Goat option doing well. Obviously 10m is a lot for a statue of a goat. I'm envisioning a massive gold goat doing a slash in the mouth of another, shit-coloured statue of Thierry Henry on his knees like he is at The Emirates. And then a plaque saying "To Dare Is To Do... a piss on a cheating twat who drives Renault Clios".

Or something along those lines.

I voted option 2, appoint a DOF, as then we would have someone scouring the world at all times looking for the next best thing as we are in no position to attract established stars. Our manager has been taking the easy option of buying from the PL and that will only get you so far...

Good answer. The thing that polls like this can never do is give a "if you voted x, then therefore that means y", however, I suspect you've taken into account that if we were to do as you suggest, it would mean the mother of all showdowns with Levy and Redknapp almost certainly leaving the club. Harry has always said he doesn't work with DoFs.

Could perhaps be one way to "constructively dismiss" him, I suppose. Not that we want to or should, mind.

We all know Jose Mourinho has a dog and if we've learnt anything from Harry's tenure it's that these pets will all have a Monaco bank account. If we realistically want Jose to take over then his pooch will need a tax-efficient sweetener and £10 million buys a lot of Bonios if you get what I'm saying.

The goat was tempting but i went for the DoF option - i'm not sure why though, i think it's probably due to our complete lack of anything resembling and well thought out and sensible signing over the last 4 transfer windows.

I agree it seems we need a DOF again, frankly we haven't made any decent moves in transfer window for some time (aside from the odd good short term signing) and we've really been surviving off the roots of previous DOF's labour.

I don't think we can afford to continue having transfer windows like the last 3

Harry may say he doesn't work with DOF but his comments about transfers always seems like he does basically just with Levy serving the role instead of an actual DOF.

He either gives LEvy a list of players, or type of player he wants/needs or Levy comes back to him with a potential signing and asks whether he wants that player. I don't see any reason why Harry couldn't continue in the same vein with a proper DOF who perhaps handles youth signings, seeks to sign the players or types of players Harry wants and or brings players to Harry's attention for him to ok before a signing.

I've always liked the expression 'voting with their feet', so I tried it. Unfortunately I'm using the iPhone so my fat toes clicked on that mature dating site advertised above. So, after much thought, I'd spend the 10m on a dialysis machine for Betty in Doncaster, who has problems with her kidneys yet will still be getting a punch in them later, if things go well.

10m isn't a lot of money Mr O, so it's not gonna make us huge strides in the transfer market. You tight fucker!!! You are worse than Levy himself.

Anyway on that basis, I would give it to our main players to entice them to stay a little bit longer.

Stick it all in a brown envelope in 10s and 20s.

Give to the agent of a Mr L. Messi.

Label envelope 'Bung'.

Don't get caught.

£10m is fuck all in transfer money nowadays. but I'd give it to Harry to spend. You can't force players on a manager and then hold them accountable for their performance. Harry gets the cash, Harry picks the player, the buck stops with Harry.

You can hardly say he wanted Saha and Nelsen. He had to sign players who wouldn't cost any money. That's no better than signing players for big money behind a managers back.
