I don't recall him being that great in the world cup either....his biggest achievement was to resemble a functioning midfielder but certainly nothing special
I don’t rate Pogba at all and his performance against us was embarrassing. But for France in the WC they had workers around him and gave him the freedom to do why he wanted and looked a different player.

He has already exceeded levels of Kane-like vision in our attacks. Two do not compare.
Well, seems we both love Ndombele. But, I haven’t seen a Spurs player since Gascoigne with Kane’s attacking vision. That’s about what they do consistently on the park. We haven’t seen enough of Ndombele yet.

He has incredible potential with his talent. Until we see him play regularly and display his ability consistently, we can’t know. We know plenty about what Kane can do in that regard.

Okay, lets revisit this at the end of season, when you will willingly accept that I was right and will offer to buy me a pint! (y)

Wait a sec. I said Tanguy's already approaching Kane in that regard, and we've hardly seen him play. By end of season, if he plays regularly, it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if he surpasses Kane re attacking vision. So, we'd both be right! I'll buy you a pint no probs. It'll be an expensive one for you though 'cause you'll have to fly to LA to get it .;)

Come on folks, Ndombele has been good so far this season and looks incredibly promising, but there's still a long way to go before he's a bona fide quality player. I still don't believe he's playing at full fitness. A full season of Ndombele would be great. I'll check back in then to make a better judgment and until then, in my mind, Kane would make the better midfielder (and, if you're reading Tanguy, there's absolutely no shame in that!).

That's what makes it so exciting, he is now performing at, let's say, 75% and has already been a very important player for us this season and certainly a joy to watch.

That's fair enough, it's just a really weird and silly thing to say.

Everyone's entitled to their opinions, but Kane being a better midfielder than Ndombele is definitely one of the stranger things I've read on here recently. Just don't see the point in the comparison and yes I know Kane has been playing well in dropping deeper and such but it's still not something I would even think about.

It's just that for the entire time Ndombele has been at the club, Kane has affected the midfield more than he has.

That is not to say that Ndombele when he's properly fit and firing won't be the better midfielder.

But if (hypothetically) Kane refused to play up front and you asked me who would be better in midfield, Kane or Ndombele, I would say on current form Kane. To be honest, that's because there aren't many midfielders who would be better than him.

I don't think that's "silly", and I'm just responding to a debate above. Kane is an amazing footballer. Ndombele is a potentially amazing footballer.

No, I think it’s an Ndombele thread, which would probably make discussions where he is compared to other spurs players relevant. The site would be quite a mess of a new thread was started everything people wanted to have a discussion like that, don’t you think?

As much as I love Kane, I think you're taking 1 aspect of midfield which is passing and then deciding he could do that role better than Ndombele where there's so many more variables, it's a bit astounding to think Kane could do a better job to be honest.

A bit like those people who think Trent should move to midfield and completely miss what allows Trent to be so devastating from that position.

Actually, it is an Ndombele thread; no thinking required. Who's talking about a new thread? The Ndombele Kane stuff would be more interesting if we're talking about how they work together to help our team. How Ndombele can do some wonderful stuff with Kane, Son and Bale etc.,

In your opinion. However, others clearly find that comparison interesting so I’m not sure your sarcastic comment was warranted unless you think there’sa better place for them to have had that discussion.

What do you think about Tanguy, mate? What he can do for our team with the players around him.

I’ve commented on him various times in the thread, I don’t really have anything to add and an more interested at this point reading what other people have to say about him in a variety of different contexts?
