Yeh I agree it wasn’t just them, but the difference is that if there’s an interest in the player then we’ve got a lot more chance of landing them if their Base clients, partly as we seem to get good value from Base and so there seems to be less posturing and brinkmanship than with other agents.Oh I think it will be quite handy and has been so far but I'm not sure they were the driving force behind Maddison so much.
I'm sure they played a part but it was said that his wife wanted to come down south and as we've seen many times before, the Mrs usually has a big say in these things.
I can’t see Eze staying at Palace, he’s at that point in his career where he can step up to a top club, he’d be nuts to stay in middle table mediocrity with Palace whilst also foregoing any likely chance of getting into the England setup.
He might hold out until the summer, but if there’s contract talks happening now I think that’s likely being used as part of negotiations in clubs that are interested in him (I.e. Palace are giving me a big new contract so you’re going to have to do better than that). It could be that he has his eye on the Euros and for that he needs to move club. Even without the Base connections moving to another London club, one that isn’t considered a rival and one that is playing some amazing football under a progressive manager and sitting top / near top of the table has to be an attractive prospect. You add Base into the equation and I think it’s quite likely he’s considering a move to Spurs either in Jan or the summer.
