Nice to see a prospect we brought with an eye for the not too distant future seemingly panning out with Sarr now

Its not perfect but the pleasing thing for me is that you can see how the formation and style of play works and how it can cause a lot of problems for the opposition. You can also see the weaknesses in high line defence. Think we will just get better with time and games.

I will say that i am not sure the long term impact, but we are fun to watch again even if we are constantly walking on a knifes edge. I'll take it.

Sarr is pure class. He looks exactly like the type of CM we have desperately been trying to find for several years now. Excited to watch him grow.

Udogie continues to look like a stud.

Richy looks like he is just half a step slow in how he reacts to.....well.....everything, passes, pressing, crosses....just seems like he is picking them all up just a little slower than he needs to....hopefully the more he is in the system the better he will get at reading the flow of play, if not he is going to have a rough run of things.
I'd rather watch this football than the stuff we were playing under the 'C' bloke quite honestly. At least it's both exciting and terrifying in equal amounts

Richy needs more service. Which isn't really happening.

Have a look at what Ange has said about Scarlett. Injury out him back a bit and he's taking a couple of weeks.to assess him.properly,.loan Vs remaining.
Look, it doesn't have to be Scarlett, just whoever our next best available striker is.

It's stupid to not have a single striker on the bench. We already know Richarlison isn't working and hasn't been working for 12 months now. Not to mention, we trained the entire pre-season with a completely different type of striker.
It doesn't matter whether it's Parrott, Scarlett, or even one of the younger guys like Jamie Donley. We should have at least one other striking option.

Bissouma is class. Been impressed by Sarr. Son has only really received the ball whilst static. That has never suited him. Needs to be at pace to be effective.

Current system doesn't suit Son. He was and would be most prolific in a system where the ST drops deep and he runs beyond. In this set up he's playing more as a wide man and that's never been his strength.

WTF is Roy Keane on about, arrogance from Spurs?! How is it arrogant to try and play in a certain way. Div.
Oh Keane just comes from that Utd era where everyone feared them. He thinks it's a lack of respect if a team plays against Utd without quaking in their boots. We're on occasions strolling about and playing out from the goal line - we're not showing Utd enough respect for him.

I genuinely think we have the makings of a great team over the next season or two.
The only barrier to that are unrealistic, impatient, impulsive, fans that can’t provide ever-increasing encouragement and enthusiasm.
Yes Levy can sign us a gem or two. But great coaching, great man management, great spirit and great leadership far exceed all that. Ange is what this club has been looking for. What the true fans have been looking for.
This season is about building solid foundations and injecting some fun and flair back into our game.
Give the players time to bed in.
They’re still suffering some PTSD from Conte etc. Get behind them and give them confidence.
Steady on, I think we are a way off, it’s going to take more than a gem or two. Don’t hold your breath on Levy.

Richy completely lost up top. Glaring we need a centre forward going into the season.
Get a good forward in, not a work in progress or a kid. A good forward who bullies defenders. Do that and we might scrape top six in what’s going to be a transitional season.

Leave ourselves short and it’ll be top ten at best.

We’ve not been at it yet.

Should probably be about 2-1 to them. Rashford and Bruno should’ve both scored but we’ve hit bar and post.

We look like a team finding our feet vs a team who’ve had the same coach and plan for a while.

If same after 60mins I’d like to see Lo Celso for Sarr and Solomon for Kulu.

I don’t think Porro has been terrible, he’s done some really good things… but I have to say for me he competes with Kulu as a right forward/winger, not Emerson for the RB spot.

not sure sonny through the middle is the answer, varane and Martinez will bully him

Maybe, but Richarlison hasn’t caused them a single problem yet, so why not give it a try? It’s not like it’s an alien position for Son.

Some good stuff, some concerning bits. VDV looks uncomfortable on the ball and his choice, timing and weight of the pass has been a bit suspect. Bissouma, Romero and Maddison good. Udogie and Porro have had good moments. Two pacey goal threat wingers and another CB I think is needed in the next two weeks

I think for the next month or two we need to remember what Ange said pre match. Really this is as much about him assessing his players, seeing what works + what doesn’t and what needs to be worked on, as it is about winning. Obviously we want to win and play well but I’m not expecting any half time subs more major early changes for a while. He’s testing them. Obviously he will still balance things and if something really isn’t working I’m sure he will change things but for now I’m expecting more tweaks then anything.

If we can build on the last 10 mins we should be in for a good second half and hopefully Gio + Solomon get a good amount of mins.

Everything moves in slow motion with our front 3, all good players but it all looks very easy to defend against. I'd like to see Soloman on either side, just to mix it up a bit.

We desperately need a better player leading the line. Richarlison is hopeless.

Sad to think what this team could’ve done with Kane in it.
He's far from hopeless. He needs.more service for a.start. doesn't help having Kulu and Son not finding their feet yet.

What would Any striker do with no service? Drop back to lick up the ball?

I think it just needs more time to click. Already looks better than Vs Brentford.
