The bloke is clearly just a dick isn’t he? So much talent but a shitty attitude, need his 200k off the books asap.

I also don't buy that he is 'one of the most gifted players Spurs have ever seen', talented sure, some nice skills sure but that statement is well OTT, he's hardly the 2nd coming of Lionel Messi but yes his attitude stinks we've all known this for ages and n.o1 thing in an Ange team and most top teams is workrate and attitude so bye bye Tangy.

This is it, and yet you get so many daft people on Twitter etc saying he’s amazing etc, but all they do is watch YouTube comps.

Why is he still here? Pure incompetence not to have sold him at this point. For all his haggling it's probably cost Levy £3-4m in wages.

Makes it even more frustrating that we supposedly turned down a bid earlier in the window from Napoli.
It is but also understandable that Ange needed to work with him first before a decision was made. I guess he thought he might be able to motivate him.

Haven't we heard he and his entourage have turned down certain offers plus he's on huge wages so hard to find many takers.

I'm not sure anyone can motivate him. I mean Jose did one on one fitness training in lockdown at risk to himself (both legal and health), and that didn't work.

In terms of pure ability with a football I don't think that's far off the truth. Of who I've seen play I'd put Hoddle, Gascoigne and maybe Ardiles above him and I have always held onto this tenuous hope that one of our many managers might be the one who can motivate him but even I've given up now and want the wages freed up for someone who wants to wear the shirt.

Imagine how good he could have been if he had had even half the desire of a player like Emerson or Skippy. Such a waste of potential as well as our time and money.

Realistically, the club is never going to be able to get him off the books unless we're going to pay most of his remaining salary. He clearly isn't fussed about making the most of his chance. He's going to collect his 200k a week, which no new club would pay him, until the end of his contract. He'll accept loans, because it won't affect his bottom line. But he's not going to accept a transfer if it hurts his bottom line. Some players would. He's not one of them.

We should offer him out on a similar deal to clubs as we did Dele. Just need someone to bite.
The Dele deal was structured to potentially return us £40m. In reality it is going to return us fuck all, other than getting his wages off the books.

Such a shame. Undoubted skill and amazing touch.
From a psychological point of view….he’s obviously very insecure about something. Very afraid of some aspect of football.
It’s most probably his interpretation (or misinterpretation) around the pain of being outside his comfort zone.
Maybe he misconstrues the discomfort of covering so many yards on a football pitch, especially in a high press.
Or it could be he’s terrified of ‘being found out’ or ‘being seen to be letting the side down’ etc.
He’s not a bad human being (not many people are) but he’s riddled with some feelings of inadequacy or insecurity.
To label him lazy is too simplistic. There’s a fear that lurks within him…that won’t allow him to fully commit…because of the idea of pain that awaits.
The human mind is a complex beast…and it’s a real shame he hasn’t found the right specialist to unlock the puzzle inside his mind, that ultimately sets him free and allows him to fulfil his undoubted potential.

That’s why I keep reiterating that a mind specialist (a really good one) is an essential element to any top, professional sports team these days. Crazy to invest so much in players…and not invest into the continued cultivation of their minds.
Basic psychology is not always enough. These days you want people drawing from multiple practices and methodologies...eastern and western.
