I just don’t think that a minority investment will stay as a minority investment. I could just about tolerate them sponsoring the shirt or stadium that would still be awful imo. But having an actual stake, and a sizeable one at that? No thanks.
As I say mate, I totally understand. And yes, potentially if they did look to expand any potential stake it could be a different kettle of fish.

Sure but they’ll can prob call in some favours and get big sponsorship deals like city do
Yeah you’re probably right. I just meant more that those who are seeing this as a deal that would help with our success on the pitch might be disappointed. I’m sure as long as Levy is in charge it wont matter how much money is flowing into the club.

Agreed. Billionaires vs State buying is totally different.

But nobody who wants to invest billions into sports, invest it for money. They have all their motives. None of that is clean.

States do it for PR...Joe Lewis bought us a undervalued investment but ultimately in 20yrs have got a huge real estate empire in London with front of Spurs. None of th

Only if we get bought , it wont be by small time millionaires anymore. Club assets itself is worth more than a billion now - only serious deep pocket billionaires can do it. And all those didn’t get those billions by being moral & ethical
Exactly the reason I don't want us to be taken over.

Better the devil you know.

Fucking hell I did a bit didn’t I ?

I still don’t see it as the same thing though tbh. That’s just investment. They aren’t buying the likes of City Psg and Newcastle as a nest egg. It’s about politics and soft power.

I don’t want them anywhere near the club. I’d rather go back to being owned by Sugar.

You fucking hypocrite. You couldn’t wait to go in two footed on people, now look who’s bending over backwards and equivocating.

Don't want any of this dirty money, genuinely sad reading on social media how many people would sell the club out for a few bloodstained pots.

Qatari money fuck off.

The reporter who broke this is very close to Levy..
Now I'm not suggesting it's suddenly appeared the week our fans turn against Levy..?
Smokescreens.? . ?
Danny wouldn't..?

My personal opinion A&C..ok???

Well, well, well a rumour about a controversial investment on a week when Levy Out movement starts to be vocal.
What a strange coincidence during the transfer window ?? wonder how quickly the rumour disappears my guess 4-5 weeks.

Won't happen but come on guys, things like these don't get leaked to appease the fans. It's just preliminary talks anyways.

If it doesn’t go to us it’ll just go to another premier league club and force us further back which will result in the club falling under more pressure from the fans.

It is quite amusing. The report says they intend to meet with a number of clubs and the only name that gets dropped is Spurs. Regardless of my thoughts on the matter I bet nothing will develop regarding a deal with us.

Maybe we wanted it dropped?

It has to be to do with levy getting flack this past week or so. If ENIC were going down this route it wouldn’t be leaked publicly. That’s not how they do things. We’d just wake up one morning with it being announced. That’s why I don’t believe it has legs. It’s not how they operate.

This reeks of a leak from the club. "Look, you want more investment, or will you rather stay away from the dirty money and let us continue our frugal ways..."

If this is a minority share purchase then not sure how it benefits the playing side. The money would go striaght to Enic in return for shares wouldn’t it?
